Herbicides And Amphibian Populations, Zach Shirk
Herbicides And Amphibian Populations, Zach Shirk
Department of Environmental Studies: Undergraduate Student Theses
Amphibians are a unique class of species that are found worldwide except Antarctica and Greenland. They range in size from a few millimeters to over six feet long. Amphibian’s habitats are as various as their size, but one thing in common is that amphibians require an aquatic location to breed. Amphibians live in deserts, mountain prairies, rain forest, wetlands, and almost everywhere in between. Amphibians are an integrated part of most natural ecosystems across the world. Amphibians are a critical part of many food chains; they provide the important link between secondary and tertiary consumers. Amphibians are indicator species in …
Applications And Potentials For Biogenic Methane Recovery Operations In Nebraska Agriculture, Industry, And Economic Development, David Micheal Dingman
Applications And Potentials For Biogenic Methane Recovery Operations In Nebraska Agriculture, Industry, And Economic Development, David Micheal Dingman
Department of Environmental Studies: Undergraduate Student Theses
ABSTRACT: This thesis report illustrates the applications and potentials of biogenic methane recovery in Nebraska’s agricultural and industrial sectors and as a means for increasing sustainable economic development in the state’s rural communities. As the nation moves toward a new green economy, biogenic methane recovery as a waste management strategy and renewable energy resource presents significant opportunities for Nebraska to be a national and world leader in agricultural and industrial innovation, advanced research and development of renewable energy technology, and generation of new product markets. Nebraska’s agricultural economy provides a distinct advantage to the state for supporting methane recovery operations …

Perennial Grasses - Are They For Me? Workshop Manual For Participants, Department Of Agriculture And Food, Wa, Grains Research And Development Corporation
Agriculture reports
This workshop is part of a series of workshops looking at dryland salinity and options to manage it. These ‘Million hectares’ workshops have the common themes of environmental improvement. They provide information to help participants identify the risks within the catchment and at a farm level, assess both the likelihood of the risk occurring and consequences if the risk is not managed and determine the best course of action for individuals. This perennial grass workshop builds on information and understanding developed from other Million hectares workshops. Participants will determine their course of action based on their specific circumstances and goals. …

Agriculture reports
This report is a product of the rangeland survey of the Pilbara area of Western Australia which was conducted jointly by the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Land Administration ... in 1995-1999. Dam Design For Pastoral Stock Water Supplies, J S. Addison, R J. Law, G B. Eliot
Dam Design For Pastoral Stock Water Supplies, J S. Addison, R J. Law, G B. Eliot
Bulletins 4000 -
These notes provide information on many components of water harvesting storage systems designed for use in semi-arid areas. The notion of a water harvesting and storage system is deliberately emphasised. No single design component can be considered in isolation if the goal of a drought-proof water supply is to be achieved.
A drought-proof surface water supply is achieved by integrating the many design components of a water harvesting/storage system into a practical plan.
Other On-Station Activities For Wool Pastoralists, Mark Stevens
Other On-Station Activities For Wool Pastoralists, Mark Stevens
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
The impact of low wool prices has been most severe on specialist wool growers who have little scope for diversification, particularly those in the pastoral area.
Although there are limited opportunities for new enterprises on all pastoral stations, individual pastoralists are examining other on-station activities to determine which ones might be suitable. In doing so, they are evaluating:
• location (proximity to a major highway or population centre);
• natural attractions (coast, gorges, river, wildflowers);
• natural resources (native fauna and flora); and
• water supply (quantity and reliability of good quality water).

"On behalf of the Oombulgurri Community, we invite assistance in developing the grain and pasture cropping at Oombulgurri.
