Many letters of thanks and praise were written to Phillip DeVito while he served as maître d’hôtel and cellar master for the fine dining and wine program at Salishan Lodge in Gleneden Beach, Oregon. This sampling includes letters from Bob and Harolyn Thompson (Bob was a wine writer for Sunset magazine), Coleman J. Lesser, Dennis P. Rawlinson, Rodney D. Strong of Sonoma Vineyards, and Verner V. Lindgren. DeVito built award-winning wine lists while at Salishan and also impressed customers with his charm and flair.

This image shows an assortment of Phillip DeVito's awards, honors, and wine status symbols. The medallion indicates his membership in the Brotherhood of the Knights of the Vine of Oregon. It was presented to DeVito in 1992 for "Outstanding Service to Oregon Wines."

The wine opener (in the red case) was given for DeVito's participation in the 10th Annual Classic Wines Auction, a benefit sponsored by Metropolitan Family Services. The Portland law firm of Gevurtz, Menashe, Larson, Kurshner & Yates, P.C. gave away the openers.

This assortment of objects represents Phillip DeVito's wine expertise. DeVito's long Oregon wine career included being the maître d’hôtel and cellar master for the fine dining and wine program at Salishan Lodge in Gleneden Beach, Oregon from 1972 to 1994.

The goblet was given to DeVito for his role in getting Salishan Lodge nominated as the 1986 Oregon Restaurant of the Year.

The silver cup was presented to DeVito as a Master Sommelier (or "Maestro") on June 1, 1975.
