In Ovo Feeding Technology: Embryonic Development, Hatchability And Hatching Quality Ofbroiler Chicks, Brian Tainika, Özer Hakan Bayraktar

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

This paper reviewed the effects of in ovo feeding application on incubation performance and chick quality in broilers. Effectiveness of incubation and chick quality in commercial chicken broiler production have a decisive role in production cost as well as efficiency and are a prerequisite for sustainable production. To date, several studies have been done to improve incubation performance and chick quality, and significant gains have been achieved in this area in the last fifty years. The average hatchability and survivability in the sector have reached 85%-90% and 90%-95% respectively, and with new research, theoretical limits have been closely approached. In …

This study was planned to determine the effects of feed restriction applied at different times and levels on the occurrence of white striping and wooden breast myopathies, performance, carcass characteristics and some blood parameters in broilers. In total, 600 male broilers were randomly placed to 5 groups with eight replicates. Control group was fed ad libitum throughout experimental period. T1 and T2 groups received feed as 80% and 70% of control group from 11 to 24 days of age, respectively. T3 and T4 groups received feed as 80% and 70% of control group from 25 to 39 days of age, …

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of feed restriction on histopathological changes associated with white striping and wooden breast myopathies in pectoralis major muscle and meat quality characteristics in broiler chickens. In total, 600 male broiler chicks were randomly divided into five groups with 8 replicate pens (15 chicks/pen). Treatments consisted of control, treatment 1 (T1), treatment 2 (T2), treatment 3 (T3) and treatment 4 (T4). Control group was fed ad libitum throughout experimental period. T1 and T2 groups received feed as 80% and 70% of amount received by the control group from 11 to 24 …
