The vespid fauna of Greater Puerto Rico is reviewed (Hymenoptera: Vespidae). Three new species are described, Ancistrocerus isla Carpenter, Euodynerus jeitita Carpenter and Genaro, and Omicron aridum Carpenter and Genaro. Polistes crinitus americanus (Fabricius, 1775) and P. crinitus multicolor (Olivier, 1792) are both reduced to synonyms of nominotypical P. crinitus (Felton, 1765), revised status; Zeta abdominale hispaniolae (Bequaert and Salt, 1931) and Zeta abdominale ornatum (de Saussure, 1855) are both reduced to synonyms of nominotypical Zeta abdominale (Drury, 1770), revised status; and Zethus rufinodus monensis Bohart and Stange, 1965, and Zethus rufinodus virginicus Bohart and Stange, 1965, are both reduced …

The Bruchidae (Insecta: Coleoptera) Of La Reserva De La Biósfera Sierra De Huautla, Morelos, Mexico, With Descriptions Of Two New Species And An Annotated Checklist, Jesús Romero Nápoles, Richard L. Westcott

From 1995 to 2004 collections for Bruchidae (Coleoptera) were made in La Reserva de la Biósfera Sierra de Huautla, Morelos, Mexico. Specimens were reared from mature seedpods, but also collected by net, malaise trap, and light trap. In total 72 species in 13 genera of Bruchidae were recovered. Of those two new species are here described: Amblycerus montalvoi Romero and Acanthoscelides camerinoi Romero. We record 27 host plants for the bruchids found in the study area.

New Records Of Rotifers From Iran With Biogeographic Considerations, Masoud Hakimzadeh Khoei, Murat Kaya, Ahmet Altindağ

The rotifer fauna of Iran is poorly known. This comprehensive study presents the results of an investigation of rotifers sampled in 51 freshwater sites of Tehran and neighboring provinces of Iran, from May 2006 to May 2007. Of the 115 species identified, 72 from 19 genera and 5 families are new for the fauna of Iran. Including the present records, the number of known Iranian rotifers has now reached 143. Additional records of Staphylinidae species from Turkey, Syria, and Iran are presented, including the first country records of Proteinus laevigatus Hochhuth, 1872 from Turkey, Astenus melanurus (Küster, 1853), and Luzea nigritula (Kraatz, 1857) from Syria, and Astenus procerus (Gravenhorst, 1806) from Iran.

Three new species are described: Ophiomyia quadrispinosa sp. nov., Metopomyza lingulata sp. nov., and Pseudonapomyza multicostata sp. nov. Five species are recorded from Turkey for the first time: Melanagromyza provecta (de Meijere), Liriomyza lutea (Meigen), L. periorbita Hendel, Phytomyza veronicicola Hering, and P. wahlgreni Rydén. All species were collected from Elazığ and Malatya provinces in 2007 and 2008. The general distribution and a description of each species are presented.

A Survey On Tersilochinae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) Species Of Turkey, With A Key To European Genera, Andrey Ivanovich Khalaim, Murat Yurtcan

Thirty-five species from 7 genera of Tersilochinae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) occur in Turkey. Of these, 20 species are new records for Turkish fauna. The general distribution and data on the biology of Turkish species are provided. Keys to all European genera and subgenera are given, with a short annotation on the taxonomy, distribution and biology of each genus.

Four oribatid mites new to the Turkish fauna, namely Licneremaeus licnophorus (Michael, 1882), Moritzoppia (Moritzoppia) tridentata (Forsslund, 1942), Lauroppia maritima acuminata (Strenzke, 1951), and Banksinoma lanceolata lanceolata (Michael, 1885), collected from Bolu province, Turkey, are given with their drawings and SEM photographs. On the basis of the collected samples, their morphological features and distributions in the world are also presented.

In this article, an attempt has been made to establish the qualitative composition of macromycetes in the communities of scale-leaf juniper, Juniperus excelsa M.Bieb. and J. foetidissima Willd., distributed in Turkey. A total of 127 species of macrofungi were registered, 2 belonging to Ascomycota and 125 to Basidiomycota. Of those, 69 species were collected in Juniperus excelsa stands, 23 in J. foetidissima stands, and 35 species in both juniper stands. Four species of lichens and 11 species of lichenicolous fungi are reported from the Republic of Daghestan for the first time for the Caucasus region. Of these, 7 taxa are new to Russia: Caloplaca badioreagens Tretiach & Muggia, Caloplaca polycarpa (A.Massal.) Zahlbr., Lichenothelia renobalesiana D.Hawksw. & V.Atienza, Stigmidium rouxianum Calat. & Triebel, Toninia episema (Nyl.) Timdal, Toninia leptogii Timdal, and Verrucaria latericola Erichsen. Comments on their geographic distribution, habitats, substrate, and comparisons with morphologically similar taxa are presented.

The material of this study comprises macrofungi specimens collected from different localities in Kemaliye district (Erzincan, Turkey) in 2006 and 2007. As a result of field and laboratory studies, 106 taxa under 35 families belonging to the classes Ascomycetes and Basidiomycetes are described: 3 of them, namely Psathyrella panaeoloides (Maire) Arnolds, Galerina stylifera var. stylifera (G.F.Atk.) A.H.Sm. & Singer, and Inocybe amblyspora Kühner, are new records for Turkey.

Four macrofungi taxa (Conocybe filaris (Fr.) Kühner, Hygrocybe glutinipes (J.E.Lange) R.Haller Aar. var. glutinipes, Inocybe calospora Quél., and I. margaritispora (Berk.) Sacc.) collected from Trabzon province are reported from Turkey for the first time. Comments on their habitats and substrata and a short diagnosis are provided for each new taxon new to Turkey.

Anthracobia melaloma, Scutellinia barlae (Pyronemataceae), and Pseudoplectania vogesiaca (Sarcosomataceae) ascomycetous members of macrofungi collected from Muğla and Antalya provinces are recorded for the first time from Turkey. Anthracobia and Pseudoplectania are also new records at genus level.

The eulophid parasitoids (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) of Cameraria ohridella Deschka and Dimic (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) on horse chestnuts (Aesculus hippocastanum L.) in İstanbul were determined for the first time. Horse chestnut leaves infested with leafminers were collected in 2008 and adult parasitoids were obtained in emergence cages in the laboratory. A total of 10 eulophid parasitoid species were identified, 5 of which, namely Cirrospilus viticola (Rondani), Pnigalio mediterraneus (Ferriére and Delucchi), Minotetrastichus frontalis (Nees), M. platanellus (Mercet), and Closterocerus trifasciatus Westwood, were recorded for the first time in Turkey. Five Aquatic Oligochaeta Species New For The Fauna Of Montenegro, Aleksandra Jablonska, Vladimir Pesic

Five species of aquatic Oligochaeta new for Montenegro were recorded from various types of fresh waters. Marionina argentea (Michaelsen, 1889) was reported from a subterranean stream. Propappus volki Michaelsen, 1916, Rhyacodrilus coccineus (Vejdovsky, 1876), and Cognettia sphagnetorum (Vejdovsky, 1877) were found in epigean streams. Haplotaxis gordioides (Hartmann, 1821) appeared in both subterranean and epigean streams. The list of aquatic oligochaetes from Montenegro now encompasses 39 species.
