Thynnidae In The United States, William H. Ashmead
An
In Ent. News, Vol. III, p. 104 (1892), the following brief notice by Mr. Wm. H. Patton occurs: "Thynnus in California. This genus has not hitherto been found north of the equator in either hemisphere, nor has any of the family Thynnidae. A single specimen received from Dr. F. E. Blaisdell, from Poway, San Diego County, Cal., is the first intimation of its occurrence in North America. It is a small black species with hyaline wings and may be named Thymms californicus.''

Bulletin No. 57 - By-Products Of The Dairy, F. B. Linfield
Bulletin No. 57 - By-Products Of The Dairy, F. B. Linfield
UAES Bulletins
Soon after becoming connected with the Station, the writer, from observations made in various parts of the State, was impressed with the necessity for investigation looking to the profitable disposal of the by-products of the dairy, both at the factory and on the farm. The common method at the factories seemed to be to feed hogs on milk or whey alone, and where grain was fed, it was only given to finish the hog for market. This method of management did not appear to be successful, for it generally took the whole season to get one crop of hogs ready …

Bulletin No. 56 - Field Experiments With Wheat, Oats, And Barley, Lewis A. Merrill
UAES Bulletins
The testing of varieties is by no means the most important work of the Station. It, however, has its value in bringing into the State [Utah], and acclimating, new varieties that may be suited to our conditions better than any now grown. The results reached in these tests ought to receive the careful attention of our farmers, because success in raising cereals depends upon securing the varieties best suited to our purpose, and in growing those in greatest demand.
The experiments recorded in the following pages give the results of variety tests with wheat, oats and barley, and, in addition, …

Bulletin No. 55 - Orchard Pests, U. P. Hendrick
UAES Bulletins
While great advancement is being made in knowledge and treatment of orchard pests, yet the fruit growers of Utah still need and ask for information regarding the common pests found in their orchards. To supply this need is what this Bulletin attempts to do--to bring together in brief and practical form the present knowledge of the common orchard pests of Utah.

Bulletin No. 54 - Cattle Feeding, Luther Foster, Lewis A. Merrill
UAES Bulletins
For three successive seasons, just preceding the work herein detailed, experiments had been conducted at this Station for the purpose of determining the comparative yield and feeding value of early, medium and late cut lucern, also of the first, second and third crops, the object being to decide, by chemical tests and feeding trials, at just what period of its growth lucern should be cut for the best results, and, pound per pound, the relative value of the different crops.
Bulletin No. 53 - Utah Sugar Beets (1897), John A. Widtsoe
Bulletin No. 53 - Utah Sugar Beets (1897), John A. Widtsoe
UAES Bulletins
Although the success of the Utah Sugar Co. has proved that sugar beets can be raised profitably in Utah, the farmer of the State, as well as others who are interested in the erection of sugar factories, desire a more accurate knowledge of the possibilities of the sugar beet in the various parts of the State, than can be obtained from isolated and uncontrolled tests. The Utah Experiment Station carried on, therefore, during the season of 1897, a co-operative sugar beet experiment with the farmers of Utah.
