Jewish law obligates each person to assist and respect his fellow. This includes a wide-range of interpersonal obligations, such as the duty to support the less advantaged, the duty to rescue from danger, and the duty to “love your fellow” and promote his success. In this article, we argue that these interpersonal obligations are rooted in Judaism’s conception of the person as endowed with dignity. This dignity is grounded in the notion of tzelem Elokim, in the metaphysical conception of man created in the divine image (Imago Dei). In the lead-up to the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), religious institutions and organizations lobbied to be exempt. Because they were successful in securing an exemption to most of the ADA’s requirements, religious private schools maintain the legal right to refuse admission to disabled students or to fail to give them various legal protections. After considering the arguments given in its favor, the paper critiques this exemption on moral grounds. This Note discusses the circuit split between the Ninth Circuit and the Fifth Circuit on whether prayer should be permitted to open up a school board meeting. First introducing the topic and explaining the history of legislative prayer in America, the Note then discusses governing Supreme Court precedent concerning school prayer and legislative prayer. The Supreme Court in Kennedy v. Bremerton finally laid the three-pronged Lemon test to rest. Instead of Lemon and its progeny, Establishment Clause cases are now to be decided based upon the historical practices and understandings of our Founding Fathers. Subsequently, the Eleventh Circuit instructed the Middle District of Florida to its analysis in Rojas v. City of Ocala. This paper calls for the establishment of a comprehensive academic and theological center to be created and located at a prestigious secular university in the United States. As the first of its kind in North America, it should be affiliated with both American Muslim and Jewish institutions. Modeled on similar Jewish-Christian centers, its mission will be to foster both a neutral ground for dialogue and the development of a theology of Jewish-Muslim coexistence.

We argue that there is a stream in the Talmud that attributes the responsibility to one player alone in the case of a joint crime/joint tort and even in dividing the credits for a joint Mitzvah. We used the game theory to investigate which incentives are provided by this approach, which games are created, which games are blocked, and to which results this approach leads. The Political Function Of Revelation: Lessons From The Hebrew Bible, Geoffrey P. Miller

This article examines the political theory of revelation in the narratives of the Hebrew Bible, particularly the theophany at Sinai. Revelation occurs when God communicates information to human beings. The biblical narratives use the modality of a revelation to signal the importance of the message being conveyed. They also identify techniques for limiting revelation’s destabilizing potential: embedding, which restricts God’s ability to change his mind; authentication, which tests the validity of revelations; and access rules which privilege political elites as recipients of God’s word.
