Reviews
The Infield Fly Rule has drawn a considerable amount of attention from legal scholars for nearly half a century. Much of the writing, in keeping with the tone of the keynote work discussing the rule, the famous Aside by William Stevens published in the University of Pennsylvania Law Review in 1975, has been whimsical and ironical. But the Aside was also a genuine piece of legal scholarship. And now, Howard Wasserman has written a book—an entire book!— on the rule, and done so without whimsy or irony.

An Oral History Of St. Mary's University School Of Law (1961–2018), Charles E. Cantú
St. Mary's Law Journal
Dean Emeritus Charles E. Cantú has worked at St. Mary’s University since 1966 when Dean Ernest A. Raba first hired him. He served as the youngest law professor in the nation at the age of twenty-five, and the first full-time Hispanic law professor. After a considerable tenure working at all three locations of St. Mary’s University School of Law and serving under four of the school’s most recent former deans, this article offers his personal recollections and observations of the history of the law school from the 1960s to the present.
This article is the culmination of a ten-hour oral …

Publications and Research
The challenge of how best to incorporate the wealth of educational/research material currently available through technologies and drawn from the social, cultural, economic, political and legal aspects of our society today has brought together professors from three distinct disciplines and schools at New York City College of Technology, CUNY to research, design, and create innovative new courses and to continually revise content and methodology in existing courses. This dynamic and interdisciplinary approach to learning allows our undergraduate students opportunities to research and apply their knowledge to existing societal issues, in “real-time” to analyze, discuss, and suggest ways to improve upon …

Henry Munroe Campbell was a distinguished lawyer who served as legal counsel to the University of Michigan's Board fo Regents for several years.
Following Mr. Campbell's death in 1926, his law partners met with then University of Michigan Law School Dean Henry M. Bates to discuss a fitting memorial. Teaching Students To Use Feedback To Improve Their Legal-Writing Skills, Lara Gelbwasser Freed, Joel Atlas
Teaching Students To Use Feedback To Improve Their Legal-Writing Skills, Lara Gelbwasser Freed, Joel Atlas
Cornell Law Faculty Publications
In an age in which writing-software programs tout formative feedback on student papers and advertise clear and compelling sentences, the roles of professor and student in the assessment and outcome-achievement process may appear passive, or even supplanted. Using feedback to improve learning, however, requires both professor and student to play active roles. In legal education, law professors are tasked with identifying and assessing learning outcomes. And much has been written about these tasks as they relate to both doctrinal and legal-writing courses. But less attention has been devoted to law students’ role in responding to feedback on their writing and …

The Upgraded Lawyer: Modern Technology And Its Impact On The Legal Profession, Thomas R. Moore
The Upgraded Lawyer: Modern Technology And Its Impact On The Legal Profession, Thomas R. Moore
University of the District of Columbia Law Review
At the peak of the Space Race in 1963, President John F. Kennedy remarked that, despite the great leaps brought by technology, "man is still the most extraordinary computer of all." With the advent of the internet and artificial intelligence, today's technological advancements might have shaken even Kennedy's faith in human superiority. For the legal profession, new technology presents a challenge to traditional notions in the practice of law as well. Clients may grow to expect tech-savviness from their attorneys, especially when their cases involve digital concepts. At the same time, the necessity for flesh-and-blood counsel may be diminished by …
