Notre Dame Law School is celebrating its 150th year in 2019. Alumni, students, faculty, and staff celebrated the sesquicentennial with a reception on September 27, 2019, in the Dahnke Ballroom in Duncan Student Center.
G. Marcus Cole, who was appointed as Notre Dame Law School's Joseph A. Matson Dean and Professor of Law earlier in the year, delivered the keynote speech at the reception. His speech starts at the 7:40 mark in this video.

St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas has existed for nearly a century. Thus far, there have been seven important written histories of St. Mary’s University School of Law, but no one has yet attempted to write a comprehensive history of the law school, nor have any members of the faculty published autobiographies. Having taught law at St. Mary’s since 1982, Professor of Law Vincent R. Johnson shares his first-hand account about the life of the law school during most of the 1980s (specifically 1980 to 1988). Virginia McDowell, at the time, was the only female to serve as CEO and President of a large, publicly-traded gaming operation from 2007 until her retirement from Isle of Capri Casinos in April 2016. Leveraging her thirty-five years of casino experience, Ms. McDowell co-founded Global Gaming Women, a non-profit that serves to support, inspire and influence the development of women in the gaming industry through education and mentoring. Today, Ms. McDowell serves on various boards and is often a keynote speaker, moderator or panelist at universities, civic organizations and charitable organizations and major industry conferences.
