The Report’s Recommendations for next steps reflect and incorporate the multiple experiences, false starts, insights, frustrations and new beginnings that represent the various ways that diversity works within the different sectors of the legal profession. We have included Recommendations that are already being used as well as some that are ambitious and aspirational. Within each of the four sectors of the profession, the recommendations are broadly categorized, but not prioritized. We recognize that every individual or organization will have its own priorities based on its unique circumstances. A Right To Bare All? Female Public Toplessness And Dealing With The Laws That Prohibit, Danielle Moriber

The note examines the legal and societal implications of women's right to be topless in public, arguing that this issue intersects with First Amendment rights, equal protection under the law, and cultural perceptions of gender and modesty. It contends that while societal norms heavily influence laws restricting female toplessness, such restrictions often disproportionately target women and raise constitutional concerns. The analysis advocates for a balanced approach, such as zoning regulations, to address these issues while respecting individual rights and community standards.

Before an enraged gunman fired thirty-six deadly shots into an exercise class filled with women, on August 4, 2009, in Pennsylvania, he blogged that his killing spree was the result of his failure to meet society’s expectations of him as a man. This violent act tragically affirms that hegemonic masculinity – a dominant form of masculinity whereby some types of men have power over women and over some other men – can directly cause violence against women and reveals both the underlying connection between masculinities scholarship and feminist scholarship and the value in exploring that linkage further in both theory …
