The establishment of Ombudsman had been officially established on 2000, based on presidential decree number 44/2000 of Ombudsman Commission of Republic Indonesia. It was later strengthened by Law Number 37/2008 of Ombudsman Republic Indonesia. As one of State Auxiliary Body, Ombudsman exercises one of Legislative's powers, which is supervision function. Its feature adhered is to ensure the state administrators to practice their duty in giving public services. Indonesia has stated its participation in one of the Climate Agreement, namely Paris Agreement, in the context of reducing GHG emission. In its implementation, Paris Agreement provides obligations for the Parties to conduct a Nationally Determined Contribution, in which there are targets to be achieved in an effort to reduce GHG emissions, in accordance with the domestic conditions of the participating countries. The Government of Canada established Correctional Service Canada’s (CSC) Structured Intervention Units (SIUs) to be a substitute for “Administrative Segregation” as it officially was known, or Solitary Confinement as it is more commonly known. The goals – explicit in the legislation governing federal penitentiaries (the Corrections and Conditional Release Act) – included provisions that SIUs were to be used as little as possible and that prisoners would be transferred from them as soon as possible.

This study aims to find out and examine licensing for the adaptation of the Bian Thiong Tjan Cultural Heritage Building in the city of Yogyakarta as well as to assess the background of permits granted even though the adaptation of buildings is contrary to the basic principles of preservation of Cultural Heritage Buildings. The results of the study were permits for the adaptation of the Bian Thiong Tjan Cultural Heritage Building in the city of Yogyakarta, not a permit to adapt but to apply for a building permit to establish a new building in the form of a hotel.

The African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA) will add a new dispute settlement system to the plethora of judicial mechanisms designed to resolve trade disputes in Africa. Against the discontent of Member States and limited impact the existing highly legalized trade dispute settlement mechanisms have had on regional economic integration in Africa, this paper undertakes a preliminary assessment of the AfCFTA Dispute Settlement Mechanism (DSM). In particular, the paper situates the AfCFTA-DSM in the overall discontent and unsupportive practices of African States with highly legalized dispute settlement systems and similar WTO-Styled DSMs among other shortcomings. Within the past several years, the U.S. Department of Justice has pledged to prosecute asylum-seekers who enter the United States outside an official port of entry without inspection. This practice has contributed to mass incarceration and family separation at the U.S.–Mexico border, and it has prevented bona fide refugees from accessing relief in immigration court. Yet, federal judges have taken refugee prosecution in stride, assuming that refugees, like other foreign migrants, are subject to the full force of American criminal justice if they skirt domestic border controls. This assumption is gravely mistaken.
