STORM (System-Theoretic and Technical Operational Risk Management) is a systems security engineering (SSE) methodology for assuring missions and managing risk. Fully consistent with the System Security Engineering principles and objectives as described in NIST SP 800-160, STORM addresses the shortcomings of compliance-centric approaches by providing rigorous, behavior-focused tools applicable at both leadership and technical levels.
STORM integrates two principal components: STPA-Sec (System-Theoretic Process Analysis for Security) and CSBD (Certified Security by Design). STPA-Sec is used to derive and validate a mission Concept of Operation (CONOPS) by enumerating unacceptable losses, identifying hazards and unsafe control actions, and identifying security constraints. Preventing cyberterrorism is becoming a necessity for individuals, organizations, and governments. However, current policies focus on technical and managerial aspects without asking for experts and non-experts values and preferences for preventing cyberterrorism. This study employs value focused thinking and public value forum to bare strategic measures and alternatives for complex policy decisions for preventing cyberterrorism. The strategic measures and alternatives are per socio-technical process.

This paper contains the description of a successful system dynamics (SD) modeling approach used for almost a quarter-century in secondary schools, both in algebra classes and in a year-long SD modeling course. Secondary school students have demonstrated an ability to build original models from the news, write technical papers explaining their models, and present a newfound understanding of dynamic feedback behavior to an audience. The educational learning theory and instructional methods used for both the algebra and modeling courses are detailed, with examples. "In this thesis, methods for evaluating the fetal state are compared to make predictions based on Cardiotocography (CTG) data. The first part of this research is the development of an algorithm to extract features from the CTG data. A feature extraction algorithm is presented that is capable of extracting most of the features in the SISPORTO software package as well as late and variable decelerations. The resulting features are used for classification based on both U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) categories and umbilical cord pH data.
