This study examined the impact of flame cutting parameters (i.e., cutting speed, plate thickness and nozzle diameter) on oxy-acetylene gas consumption, cost and production rate. A full factorial design of experiments was used to generate 27 experiments, which were conducted using a CNC flame cutter. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) method was used to determine significant process parameters, followed by regression analysis using the MINITAB ® software. Sustainable shrimp aquaculture requires reliable and affordable energy, particularly for coastal pond aeration. However, identifying suitable locations for photovoltaic (PV) deployment remains challenging because ground-based solar-resource measurement is expensive, spatially limited, and difficult to maintain across large coastal regions. This study develops a village-level spatial framework to evaluate PV potential for shrimp aquaculture using open geospatial datasets. The analysis covered villages across Central Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta, and East Java. Research Aims: This study reframes the growth challenge of Indonesia’s Islamic banking as a financial-service marketing problem: strengthening customer adoption, trust, and perceived value to expand market penetration in a dual-banking environment while maintaining resilience.
Design/Methodology/Approach: Using a system dynamics perspective, the study develops a causal loop diagram (CLD) grounded in a review of policy-document and prior empirical marketing/Islamic banking literature. A multi-actor lens is applied to map how regulators, government, customers, conventional banks, fintech, and ESG investors shape adoption and competitive dynamics.

Some spreadable cheese packaging uses flexible plastic without additional features and easily damaged boxes. This packaging causes several problems, such as difficulty in re-storage, loss of product information due to damaged box packaging, wasteful use of packaging materials, and making the product less hygienic. The purpose of this study is to develop packaging that focuses on consumer emotions. The packaging was developed using the Kansei Engineering method, supported by Principal Component Analysis (PCA) as a determinant of the design concept, and Quantification Theory Type 1 (QTT1) to identify design elements. However, there is a dearth of information on the optimization of vehicle mix for three-and four-wheel transportation systems in Nigeria. The present study was designed to optimize the vehicle mix for three-and four-wheel passenger transportation to improve transportation efficiency. Twenty purposively selected vehicles were observed, while a queuing model (M/M/s) was used to determine passenger arrival rates during different periods (morning, afternoon, and evening). Incineration is widely employed for hazardous waste disposal, but results in harmful flue gas emissions. This study optimizes a double-chamber incineration process to reduce sulfur dioxide (SO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions while maximizing the incineration rate. The effects of waste mass, primary chamber temperature (PT), and secondary chamber temperature (ST) were analyzed using a full factorial design of 27 experiments. ANOVA revealed that mass had the greatest impact on emissions and incineration time, ST had a moderate effect, and PT had little influence. This study focused on optimizing gas metal arc welding (GMAW) parameters for AISI 1045 carbon steel to balance the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and heat affected zone (HAZ) size of the weldment. Using a full factorial design of experiments (27 trials), the influence of welding current, arc voltage, and travel speed on UTS and HAZ size of AISI 1045 carbon steel weldments were investigated. From the analysis of results, using Analysis of variance (ANOVA) technique, the results revealed that current, travel speed and arc voltage contributed 74.41%, 19.05% and 0.04%, respectively, to the total percentage of variations on UTS data. …

Measurements of on-line tool wear and part dimensional accuracy in machining operations are not readily available in machining shop floor because they involve higher investment such that the decisions of tool wear and part quality for intermediate cutting passes cannot be justified. This paper presents a Fuzzy-SPT (Fuzzy Set-Point Tracking) controller designed to combine the strengths of FLC (Fuzzy Logic Control) and PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control while mitigating their limitations across varying operating conditions. Inspired by state-dependent reasoning but implemented within a single controller, the method uses internal logic to adapt the control effort across different operating regions. FLC handles rapid changes and nonlinear transients, enabling fast system response without overshoot, while PID-like integral action is activated when the FLC reaches steady state or enters a threshold region near the set point, eliminating residual errors and maintaining stable performance. The durability of Bonnell springs, which are widely used in the manufacture of spring beds, is often compromised by height reduction during use, which negatively impacts product comfort and quality. In the context of Industry 4.0, predictive maintenance enhances operational efficiency by optimizing processes, minimizing downtime, and improving cost-effectiveness. However, implementing predictive maintenance requires a systematic approach due to its complexity. This study collected expert input from 15 food and beverage manufacturing industries located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, using a purposive sampling technique. Six representatives were selected from each industry, and their opinions were analyzed using MATLAB 7.6 through a fuzzy logic inference system. This paper elucidates initiatives taken by the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK, to overcome barriers in education and training in Sub-Sahara African higher learning engineering institutions. The said barriers include mismatches of curriculum, ineffectual teaching and learning and little exposure of academic staff to engineering practice. In order to overcome such barriers, the Royal Academy of Engineering established the two programmes in the region. A systematic literature review was conducted to unveil the status of the digital transformation of metrology in developing countries, as they are lagging in utilising fourth industrial revolution (IR4.0) technologies to transform manufacturing industries. A PRISMA technique was employed using various keywords to identify, screen, and select the relevant literature. Forty publications were selected for the review, mainly discussing IR 4.0 technologies in metrological operations. Cutting conditions in manufacturing processes have effects on tool temperature and material removal rate. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of cutting conditions namely spindle speed, feed rate, depth of cut and tool nose radius on tool temperature and material removal rate in turning operations. This study aimed to investigate the vital role and impact of technical audits in promoting sustainable infrastructure development in Tanzania. The role and effects of technical audits in long-term infrastructure development were studied using a mixed-methods approach with both quantitative and qualitative parts. Data were collected through analysis of technical audit documentation, a semi-structured questionnaire, and stakeholder interviews. The study revealed the various dimensions of infrastructure investment projects, including initiation and planning, design, procurement of contractors and consultants, contract management, environment, health, and safety.
