The Problem and Its Setting

During the past few years, nationally prominent industrial and educational leaders have been concerned with the present shortages of engineers and technically trained personnel. These leaders appear to be concerned with the utilization of manpower and in present and future educational patterns which will insure an ample supply of technically competent personnel.¹
