Spectroscopic Investigation Of Palladium-Copper Bimetallic Systems For Pem Fuel Cell Catalysts, Timo Hofmann
Spectroscopic Investigation Of Palladium-Copper Bimetallic Systems For Pem Fuel Cell Catalysts, Timo Hofmann
UNLV Theses, Dissertations, Professional Papers, and Capstones
One of the main barriers to commercialization of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells systems is cost, which is largely due to the need of platinum (Pt)-containing catalysts. In this thesis we investigate bimetallic systems consisting of a base metal (copper) and a noble metal (palladium) that, as an alloy on the nanoscale, mimic the electronic properties that make Pt desirable as a catalyst.
We present a detailed investigation of the electronic structure of carbon-supported Pd/Cu nanoparticle catalysts, model bilayer thin film systems, alloys, and various metal reference samples. We have investigated the valence band structure of the catalysts using a …
Effects Of Environmental Variables And Stress Concentration On Target Materials, Sudheer Sama
Effects Of Environmental Variables And Stress Concentration On Target Materials, Sudheer Sama
Transmutation Sciences Materials (TRP)
This paper presents a brief summary on stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behavior of alloy HT 9. The susceptibility of this alloy to SCC was evaluated by using constant load and slow strain rate test techniques in neutral and acidic solutions at ambient temperature and 90°C. A proof ring was used to apply tensile load to the smooth specimen for 30 days in constant load testing. In slow strain rate testing, the specimen was continuously strained in tension at a rate of 3.3 × 10-6 sec-1 until fracture.
Preliminary Examination Of The Aluminum Corner Of The Ternary System Aluminum-Silver-Indium (A1-Ag-In), Jerome J. Blake
Preliminary Examination Of The Aluminum Corner Of The Ternary System Aluminum-Silver-Indium (A1-Ag-In), Jerome J. Blake
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
In this paper the author attempts to lay the groundwork for future work on the Al-Ag-In system.
The Effect Of Manganese And Magnesium On The Hardening Of Copper-Aluminum Alloys, Robert M. Hansen
The Effect Of Manganese And Magnesium On The Hardening Of Copper-Aluminum Alloys, Robert M. Hansen
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
During recent years, duralumin and all aluminum alloys have been made the object of much discussion regarding their hardening mechanism. The commercial success of nearly all of the alloys of aluminum and magnesium is dependent on their ability to age or precipitation harden.
Hydrogen Overvoltage Of Cadmium Bismuth And Antimony Bismuth Alloys, Edwin W. Stevens
Hydrogen Overvoltage Of Cadmium Bismuth And Antimony Bismuth Alloys, Edwin W. Stevens
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
A method to measure hydrogen overvoltage was developed and checked with metals of known overvoltage. Alloys of bismuth and antimony and of bismuth and cadmium were prepared and their overvoltages determined.
A Study Of Metallic Eutectics, Robert P. Corbett
A Study Of Metallic Eutectics, Robert P. Corbett
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
All of the metals have definite melting points. When a metal is heated above the melting point, it exists as a liquid. Now if the melt is allowed to cool, it will solidify when a temperature corresponding to the melting point is reached.
However, if one metal is added to another metal, both of which are mutually soluble in the liquid state, a certain effect can be noted. The melt will not solidify when the melting point of the pure metal is reached, but will freeze at a lower temperature.
Age Hardening Of Silver-Platinum Alloys, Robert A. Wilson
Age Hardening Of Silver-Platinum Alloys, Robert A. Wilson
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The alloy system selected for study was the binary alloy of platinum and silver. An examination of the various silver alloy diagrams revealed that of several possible alloys, the silver platinum was the most suitable with regard to solubility.
The Rate Of Precipitation Of Copper Aluminide In The Silver Rich Silver-Copper-Aluminum Alloys, Thomas Finley Mcbride
The Rate Of Precipitation Of Copper Aluminide In The Silver Rich Silver-Copper-Aluminum Alloys, Thomas Finley Mcbride
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
In order to determine the best annealing temperature at which to age-harden the alloys, hardness tests on specimen annealed for different lengths of time at different temperatures were made.
