The Kilombero Basin in southeastern Tanzania faces significant challenges due to rapid land use and land cover (LULC) changes driven by climate change, population growth, and unsustainable farming practices. This study assessed the role of community engagement and digital reporting through the 'NITUNZE KILOMBERO', mobile application in supporting water resources management in the basin. The App facilitates real-time reporting of environmental issues, provides educational resources, and enables collaboration between local communities and authorities. Through-the-wall radar imaging (TWRI) is an essential technology for military and rescue applications; however, its performance in detecting and visualizing high-quality images of targets behind walls is significantly degraded by multipath reflections and signal attenuation. This paper reviews the current state of TWRI and its challenges, and explores the transformative potential of deep learning, particularly convolutional neural networks (CNNs), in addressing these challenges. Peer-reviewed articles published from 2018 to 2024 were analysed to examine CNN applications in addressing TWRI challenges. In this paper, a blind symbol synchronization algorithm is presented for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, and a timing function based on the redundancy of the cyclic prefix (CP) is introduced. The existing algorithms rely on the prior knowledge of the channel energy distribution i.e. channel power profile. Despite its widespread application, the commonly used Linear Back Projection (LBP) algorithm often produces low-quality images due to its limited ability to handle high permittivity contrasts and nonlinearities. This research is devoted to the issue of regulating traffic congestion in major cities using light-dependent resistors coupled with the PIC16F877A microcontroller. This study proposes an intelligent traffic control system for T-Junctions, utilizing sensing and control to optimize traffic flow through dynamic phase adjustments and congestion reduction, enabled by a microcontroller-based decision-making system. The proposed system reduces traffic congestion, automates control, and enhances safety, minimizing accidents and lowering infrastructure costs. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems face challenges in channel estimation due to noise, variability, and the doubly dispersive nature of wireless channels, which degrade performance. To address these challenges, a multichannel minimum variance double dispersive channel estimator is proposed. The method employs a hybrid approach that combines subspace and minimum variance techniques, optimizing the filter bank output power under a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) constraint. This design preserves the desired signal while effectively suppressing disturbances, achieving robust performance with reduced computational complexity compared to existing methods. This study compared the CAPEX requirements for a television white space (TVWS) based broadband network and that of deploying the UMTS based mobile broadband networks to deliver broadband connectivity in areas with sparse population which characterize most of Tanzania rural. Like many developing countries, Tanzania has low Internet penetration, with penetration of just over 46% when multiple subscriptions are taken into account. The affected communities are mostly rural due to low population densities which make deployment of the mobile broadband to be much expensive in terms of costs. The fishing industry engages many Tanzanians and is among the leading sectors of Blue Economy in the country. However, fishing practices are small-scale with poor and insufficient number of fishing facilities, hence limiting productivity and efficacy. Studies argue that the low level of technology currently used in the country could possibly be an impeding factor.
