Modeling Of Three-Phase Uniform Symmetrical Sampling Digital Pwm For Power Converter, Saad Mekhilef Sep 2006

Modeling Of Three-Phase Uniform Symmetrical Sampling Digital Pwm For Power Converter, Saad Mekhilef

Saad Mekhilef

A mathematical approach of modeling and analyzing three-phase pulsewidth modulation (PWM) is presented. The three-phase flyback converter required a unique pattern of PWM to optimize the power transfer in the magnetic circuit used in the converter. The three-phase PWM is generated digitally based on uniform symmetrical sampling technique using Xilinx chip. The generated PWM pattern is able to reduce the magnitude of the low order of harmonic components present in the input ac supply. Although software simulation could simulate the PWM pattern, it does not represent the exact pattern as being generated digitally. The mathematical approach used is to model …

"Var Planning In Distribution Systems Via Genetic Operators", Fabricio I. Salgado, Enrique A. López, Hugh Rudnick

Fabricio I. Salgado MSc.

A new solution for VAR planning in distribution systems is proposed. It is based on Genetic Algorithms (GAs). Allelic Alphabet and Hamming Distance concepts are efficiently exploited under real coding. The model’s robustness is demonstrated through a 69-node system. The effect of the genetic operators is quantified (mutation probability and mutation radius, crossover probability) regarding the convergence of the solution. The procedure allows obtaining a realistic solution for the VAR planning problem.

Due to development of both wireless communication users and communication line users, utilization of high-speed communications has become a vital essence. High speed digital microwave radios have a great contribution in wireless telecommunications. Having a different and high capacitance, these radios can transmit and receive data in point to point links in far distances up to 30 km. Considering the high rate of utilization such digital microwave radios have in lower bands, it is imperative to utilize such kind of radios in upper bandsfor accessing more channels. One of the radios that plays a significant role in communications is digital …

This work concerns the survey of undulatory processes and over voltages in the asynchronous machines fed by semiconductor frequency converters which are controlled by PWM strategy type. It includes the different stages of usual calculation of electric machines, with explanation of certain construction particularities of the asynchronous machine fed by frequency converters. It emphasises the calculation of the undulatory parameters and the undulatory voltage determination in any point of the asynchronous machine winding for different time periods. The calculation of the undulatory parameters with the geometric method requires the knowledge of the machine geometric measurements and the development of equivalent …

In this paper, we address and discuss a novel look at the high-resolution array radar/SAR imaging as an ill-conditioned inverse spatial spectrum pattern (SSP) estimation problem with model uncertainties. We explain the theory recently developed by the authors of this presentation that addresses a new fused Bayesian-regularization paradigm for radar/SAR image formation/reconstruction. We show how this theory leads to new adaptive and robustified computational methods that enable one to derive efficient and consistent estimates of the SSP via unifying the Bayesian minimum risk estimation strategy with the ME randomized a priori image model and other projection-type regularization constraints imposed on …

"Solution To The Reliability Problem Of Radial Electric Distribution Systems Through Artificial Inteligence", E. López, J. Campos, C. Tardón, Fabricio I. Salgado, J. Tardón, R. López

Fabricio I. Salgado MSc.

In this paper the distribution electric system reliability is recognized like an artificial intelligence problem. How this idea is applied in evaluation of reliability is detailed. Concepts as Intelligence Matrix and Inter-feeder Route are defined. From the last one a reliability prediction strategy for medium voltage networks is proposed and tested.
