Release Of Large Water Droplets, Jeffrey N. Fonnesbeck
Release Of Large Water Droplets, Jeffrey N. Fonnesbeck
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
Water is familiar to all human beings and water droplets are an integral part of our daily lives. From irrigation sprinklers to waterfalls we can observe the formation of water droplets. For most, the droplets are so common and mundane that no thought is given to how the droplets form. Scientists have spent many decades detailing the processes that lead to droplet formation. Current theories and experiments agree quite well for specific cases such as pendant drop formation and jet breakup, but in regards to large volumes of free falling liquid there is very little experimental work to confirm the …
Determination Of The Rational Values Of The Parameters Of The Disc Rollers Of The Combined Unit, A.K. Igamberdiev, D.K. Muqimova
Determination Of The Rational Values Of The Parameters Of The Disc Rollers Of The Combined Unit, A.K. Igamberdiev, D.K. Muqimova
Irrigation and Melioration
In our country, repeated crops are sown in newly plowed lands. In such conditions, the use of combined units that perform several technological operations simultaneously in one pass is considered effective. However, due to the inadequacy and validity of the parameters of the working bodies for the quality of pre-sowing tillage in newly plowed lands, there is an increase in the number of passes, fuel consumption, loss of soil moisture and other costs and, as a result, the possibility of timely sowing and friendly germination of repeated crops is reduced . The rational parameters of the new design of disk …
Substantiation Of Sprayers Installed To A Universal Mounted Sprayer, D. Dzhuraev, M.S. Halilov, S.M. Badalov, I.Zh. Toirov, A.E. Urishev
Substantiation Of Sprayers Installed To A Universal Mounted Sprayer, D. Dzhuraev, M.S. Halilov, S.M. Badalov, I.Zh. Toirov, A.E. Urishev
Irrigation and Melioration
The article presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies on the creation of primary sprayers for sprayers. The flow diagrams of the atomizers that were produced on the territory of the former Soviet Union are given. Currently, various types of spray guns are manufactured in America, Germany, France, Italy, Bulgaria and other countries. Based on the set requirements for sprayers, to ensure fluid flow and spraying when deployed 90-110 degrees on a plane, a slotted sprayer is selected - manufacturer Lechler of the brand ST-110-05 Germany, for installation on a universal mounted sprayer. The results of fluid flow by …

Method Of Determining The Parameters Of The Working Bodies Of The Centrifugal Fan Installed To The Sprayer, D. Dzhuraev, M.S. Halilov, I.Zh. Toirov, A.E. Urishev
Irrigation and Melioration
The article presents the data of scientists who conducted theoretical and experimental research on centrifugal fans, they refined the calculations, improved technical characteristics and aerodynamic designs of centrifugal fans. Aerodynamic and technological schemes of centrifugal fans installed to the sprayer have been developed. The theoretical and experimental studies conducted by scientists are described: Nevelson MI, Cherkassky VM, Kalinushkin MP, Ivanov O. P., Turbin B. G., on the basis of which the authors developed a method for calculating the main parameters of the working bodies centrifugal fan. Based on the developed calculation methodology, the main parameters of the working bodies of …
Electrospinning Of Polymethyl Methacrylate Nanofibers: Optimization Of Processing Parameters Using The Taguchi Design Of Experiments
Faculty of Engineering University of Malaya
The effects of polymer concentration and electrospinning parameters on the diameter of electrospun polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) fibers were experimentally investigated. It was also studied how the controlled factors would affect the output with the intention of finding the optimal electrospinning settings in order to obtain the smallest PMMA fiber diameter. Subsequently the solution feed rate, needle gauge diameter, supply voltage, polymer concentration and tip-to-collector distance were considered as the control factors. To achieve these aims, Taguchi's mixed-level parameter design (L-18) was employed for the experimental design. Optimal electrospinning conditions were determined using the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio that was calculated from …

The Effects Of Oil Concentration And Droplet Diameter In Oil-In-Water Emulsion On Strip Rolling, Prabuono B. Kosasih, A. K. Tieu, Weihua Li, Cheng Lu
Professor Weihua Li
A numerical scheme, which allows tracking of the concentration process within both the inlet and wok zones, has been developed. The scheme allowed us to calculate the rolling pressure and friction associated with the process for different emulsion’s oil concentrations, and oil droplets diameter, ds. Hence the intertwined effect of A,ds, ds and rolling speed on strip rolling parameters could be analyzed. The result shows that rapid concentration, which occurs in the inlet zone, increases the emulsion’s oil concentration sharply. This process effectively transforms the oil into the continuous phase of the emulsion. The analysis of the results also suggests …

The Influence Of Nozzle Spacing And Diameter On The Acoustic Emissions Of Closely Spaced Supersonic Jet Arrays, Ian S. Coltrin
The Influence Of Nozzle Spacing And Diameter On The Acoustic Emissions Of Closely Spaced Supersonic Jet Arrays, Ian S. Coltrin
Theses and Dissertations
The acoustic emissions from supersonic jets represent an area of significant research needs; not only in the field of aero-acoustics, but in industry as well where high pressure let down processes have been known to cause acoustically induced vibrations. A common method to reduce the acoustic emissions of such processes involves dividing the single larger supersonic flow into several smaller ones. Though this is common practice, there is not yet a current model which describes the reduction of acoustic emissions from an array of smaller supersonic jets. Current research which studies supersonic jet arrays are mainly focused on the effects …
The Sensitivity Analysis Of A Mems Microphone With Different Membrane Diameters, Cheng-Ta Yang
The Sensitivity Analysis Of A Mems Microphone With Different Membrane Diameters, Cheng-Ta Yang
Journal of Marine Science and Technology
In MEMS capacitive microphone design, it is very critical to get highest yielding rate and sensitivity as the two major factors dominate structure design of microphone. The centralpost MEMS microphone is introduced in this paper to differentiate from traditional fixed membrane boundary microphone since the construction is simple and only few masks are required in the process so that the yielding can be greatly enhanced. Thus, it is necessary to find the relationship between the sensitivity and dimension of the diameter of the membrane. The main research steps described in this paper include using CoventorWarer to develop one analysis model …
Mechanical Property Development During Uoe Forming Of Large Diameter Pipeline Steels, Andrii Kostryzhev, Martin Strangwood, Claire L. Davis
Mechanical Property Development During Uoe Forming Of Large Diameter Pipeline Steels, Andrii Kostryzhev, Martin Strangwood, Claire L. Davis
Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part A
Mechanical properties of large diameter welded steel pipes depend on the thermomechanically controlled rolled (TMCR) plate microstructure and UOE pipe-forming cold deformation sequence. Strength from plate to pipe may increase (work-hardening) or decrease (the Bauschinger effect). Bauschinger effect parameters depend on steel composition and plate processing history. The present study is examining two pipeline grades: X60 (Nb-alloyed) and X65 (Nb- and V-alloyed). Mechanical properties are determined by grain refinement, solid solution, precipitation strengthening mechanisms, and work-hardening (work-softening). The reverse deformation yield drop increases with an increase in the precipitate particle volume fraction and pre-strain. Annealing, leading to a decrease in …
