Journal of China & Foreign Highway
To effectively deal with waste soil and reduce environmental pollution, this paper took a road engineering project in Shaoxing as the research object and conducted a cyclic triaxial incremental loading test on the undisturbed lime soil under undrained conditions to study the effects of confining pressure, cyclic stress ratio, and water immersion on its performance. The results show that when the cyclic stress ratio increases from 1 to 4,the cumulative strain and resilient strain increase rapidly in the initial loading stage, showing a trend of “stepwise” increase. The cumulative strain produced at a cyclic stress ratio of 2 is about twice that at the cyclic stress …

3d Point Cloud Analysis With Classification, Segmentation And Few-Shot Learning, Jiajing Chen
Dissertations - ALL
Deep learning for 3D point cloud analysis has made significant progress, yet several critical challenges, including the following, remain underexplored: (1) traditional max-pooling operations discard a substantial portion of learned features, resulting in information loss and inefficient use of computational resources; (2) existing few-shot point cloud classification models lack robustness when faced with occlusion, missing points, and limited training data; (3) semantic segmentation methods often fail to fully exploit background–foreground interactions, leading to reduced accuracy. Moreover, in domains such as gait recognition and visual program synthesis, research has been largely dominated by 2D-based approaches, leaving the potential of point cloud …

Bending Moment Calculation And Reinforcement Recommendations For Cast-In-Place Cover Slabs In Slab Culverts, Li Yukun, Wan Kecheng, Fu Fulin
Journal of China & Foreign Highway
To address the complexity and lack of practical methods for calculating bending moments of cast-in-place cover slabs in slab culverts, the slabs were simplified as one-way slabs with a pair of opposing edges simply supported and the other pair of edges free.Theoretical formulas for calculating the bending moments within the slabs under uniformly distributed loads were derived using elastic theory. The accuracy of the theoretical formulas was validated through case studies via finite element software.Various combinations of length, width, and fill heights exist in highway projects, making the use of theoretical formulas for bending moment calculations cumbersome. Therefore,a simplified method for calculating maximum bending moments in …

Latent Action Trajectory Optimization, Rahul Milind Kandekar
Latent Action Trajectory Optimization, Rahul Milind Kandekar
Master's Theses
Learning from demonstrations offers a path to bypass the sample inefficiency of reinforcement learning, but obtaining action-labeled expert demonstrations remains expensive and often impractical. Learning from Observations (LFO) addresses this by learning policies from observation-only demonstrations. Recent LFO work relies heavily on behavior cloning: VPT and LAPO use observation-only data combined with limited action labels to train BC policies, while AIME offers an alternative policy inference approach but requires the majority of its training data to have action labels. Through systematic experiments in the Lunar Lander environment, we investigate whether latent action methods can function when state and action dimensionalities …

Makara Journal of Science
Gold nanoplates and nanostars were synthesized from a gold metal salt solution (HAuCl4) using a one-step synthesis method of ultraviolet C (UVC) light irradiation. The gold salt solution was mixed with ethanol in 6 mL with the following ratios: (1.5:4.5, 3:3, and 4.5:1.5), and subsequently irradiated with UVC light. Changes in localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) shifts were observed in real time at 30-min intervals for 2 h. The synthesis process produces gold nanoplates. While gold nanostars were synthesized from a solution of gold salt combined with ethanol, ascorbic acid, and AgNO3, maintaining a consistent ratio …

Use Of Alaçatı Stone Aggregate In Conventional And Self-Consolidating Concretes, Tahir Kemal Erdem
Journal of Sustainable Construction Materials and Technologies
Alaçatı stone or Alapietra stone is widely used mostly for building cladding. However, its production and use in the construction sites generate high amounts of waste (debris), causing environmental pollution in Çeşme which is a touristic district. This study investigated the reuse of Alaçatı stone as lightweight aggregate (LWA) in both conventional and self-consolidating concrete (SCC) mixtures. The concretes were prepared to have three different water-to-cement ratios (w/c), which were 0.38, 0.42 and 0.48. For each w/c, a conventional concrete mixture and two SCC mixtures with 60 or 70 cm slump flow were produced by varying the superplasticizer SP content. …
