Mechanical Engineering Design Project Class

Each year the AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics) hosts a design competition where college teams design and fly a small, remote-controlled, battery-powered airplane. For this competition, scoring primarily depends upon the following: maximizing payload, maximizing speed, minimizing weight, minimizing wingspan. Since wingspan is a key scoring factor and variable wing geometry is allowed, our design team has decided to design a pivoting wing system that can be remotely activated immediately before and after takeoff and landing respectively.

The Domain Name System (DNS), which does not encrypt domain names such as "bank.us" and "dentalcare.com", commonly accurately reflects the specific network services. Therefore, DNS-based behavioral analysis is extremely attractive for many applications such as forensics investigation and online advertisement. This paper will focus on an approach to study the mechanical as well as the dielectric properties of an adhesive bond. The dielectric testing is done by using Broadband Dielectric Spectroscopy (BbDS), wherein the dielectric characteristics of the material are analyzed in a wide frequency spectrum. The data obtained by this technique are used to demonstrate the charge transport, the combined dipolar fluctuation, and the effects of polarization occurring between the boundaries of materials. Kinesin-driven microtubules have been focused on to serve as molecular transporters, called “molecular shuttles,” to replace micro/nanoscale molecular manipulations necessitated in micro total analysis systems. Although transport, concentration, and detection of target molecules have been demonstrated, controllability of the transport directions is still a major challenge. Toward broad applications of molecular shuttles by defining multiple moving directions for selective molecular transport, we integrated a bottom-up molecular design of microtubules and a top-down design of a microfluidic device. Our previous work, Micro Learning as a Service (MLaaS), aimed to deliver adaptive micro open education resources (OERs). However, relying solely on the offline computation, the recommendation lacks rationality and timeliness. It is also difficult to make the first recommendation to a new learner. In this paper we introduce the organization of the online computation of the MLaaS. One such factor, that has not seen much investigation, concerns learning styles. Student learning styles may have a dramatic influence on the success of a synchronous online deliverable engineering graphics curriculum. Composite materials are widely used in Aerospace, Marine and Automotive structures to reduce weight and increase performance. Adhesive bonding improves the stress distribution between the composite materials / dissimilar materials and ensures a lighter structure than conventional fastener joints. But still there is not much research on the Non-Destructive strength estimation and life prediction, or the damage prognosis of the adhesive bond. One of the main problems when using adhesive bonding is a "kissing bond" which is a weak adhesion bond alternatively called zero volume disbond.
