Taking the ideal articulation angle as the control target, a feedforward plus feedback path following control method is proposed, which realizes the precise path following of rear vehicle bodies by minimizing the deviation between the ideal articulation angle and the actual articulation angle. According to the geometric position relationship between the vehicle and the desired path, the traditional calculation method of the ideal articulation angle is improved from two perspectives of application range and error accumulation. Based on the …

The adaptive calculation of anchor frame is realized by canceling the initial anchor frame of YOLOv5, and the anchor frame suitable for the current dataset is generated. A three-dimensional weighted …

A Method For Battlefield Situation Information Ontology Construction Based On Top-Down And Bottom-Up Integration, Cong Zhou, Sihang Zhou, Jian Huang, Dong Wang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: The construction of the unified expression model of battlefield situational information is challenging due to the complexity of data sources and the significant differences in data structures and expression methods. Ontologies, as semantic conceptual models, are often used to describe concepts, relationships, and attributes within knowledge domains. An ontology construction method for the battlefield situational information domain based on a top-down and bottom-top integration is proposed. The top-down method is used to construct the upper ontology, in which a conceptual hierarchy model with a clear top-down structure is designed to establish the hierarchical relationships and semantic associations. A bottom-up …

Long-Distance Photon-Mediated And Short-Distance Entangling Gates In Three-Qubit Quantum Dot Spin Systems, Nooshin M. Estakhri, Ada Warren, Sophia E. Economou, Edwin Barnes

Engineering Faculty Articles and Research

Superconducting resonator couplers will likely become an essential component in modular semiconductor quantum dot (QD) spin qubit processors, as they help alleviate crosstalk and wiring issues as the number of qubits increases. Here, we focus on a three-qubit system composed of two modules: a two-electron triple QD resonator coupled to a single-electron double QD. Using a combination of analytical techniques and numerical results, we derive an effective Hamiltonian that describes the three-qubit logical subspace and show that it accurately captures the dynamics of the system. We examine the performance of short-range and long-range entangling gates, revealing the effect of a …

Decision-Making In Diagnosing Heart Failure Problems Using Dual Hesitant Fuzzy Sets, Manar Mohamed Omran, Reham Abdel-Aziz Abo-Khadra

Journal of Engineering Research

In recent decades, several types of sets, such as fuzzy sets, interval-valued fuzzy sets, intuitionistic fuzzy sets, interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets, type 2 fuzzy sets, type n fuzzy sets, and hesitant fuzzy sets, have been introduced and investigated widely. In this paper, we propose dual hesitant fuzzy sets (DHFSs), which encompass fuzzy sets, intuitionistic fuzzy sets, hesitant fuzzy sets, and fuzzy multi-sets as special cases. Then we investigate the basic operations and properties of DHFSs. We also discuss the relationships among the sets mentioned above, and then propose an extension principle of DHFSs. Additionally, we give an example to illustrate …

Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction And Well-Being Among Seafarers: An Investigation Of Interaction Effects Through The Lens Of Self-Determination Theory, Nong Vuong Phi, Kung Don Ye, Feng Ming Tsai, Hsiao Chao Hsieh, Shiou-Yu Chen

Journal of Marine Science and Technology–Taiwan

Enhancing employee well-being is a primary goal for enterprise sustainable development. Although seafarers represent a major human resource in the maritime industry, the distinctive demands of their profession often compel them to compromise on certain elements in fulfilling their basic psychological needs, thereby contributing to mental health challenges. Recently, COVID-19 and its associated border control measures have prolonged the voyages of seafarers, drawing public attention to the topic of seafarer well-being. In this study, self-determination theory was used to explore the effects of autonomy, competence, and relatedness as fundamental psychological needs on seafarer well-being. After the independent effects of these …

M3t-Lm: A Multi-Modal Multi-Task Learning Model For Jointly Predicting Patient Length Of Stay And Mortality, Junde Chen, Qing Li, Feng Liu, Yuxin Wen Oct 2024

M3t-Lm: A Multi-Modal Multi-Task Learning Model For Jointly Predicting Patient Length Of Stay And Mortality, Junde Chen, Qing Li, Feng Liu, Yuxin Wen

Engineering Faculty Articles and Research

Ensuring accurate predictions of inpatient length of stay (LoS) and mortality rates is essential for enhancing hospital service efficiency, particularly in light of the constraints posed by limited healthcare resources. Integrative analysis of heterogeneous clinic record data from different sources can hold great promise for improving the prognosis and diagnosis level of LoS and mortality. Currently, most existing studies solely focus on single data modality or tend to single-task learning, i.e., training LoS and mortality tasks separately. This limits the utilization of available multi-modal data and prevents the sharing of feature representations that could capture correlations between different tasks, ultimately …

An Experiment Study On Implementing Syngas On A Small Generator Set, Bui Van Chinh, Khong Vu Quang, Khanh Nguyen Duc Oct 2024

An Experiment Study On Implementing Syngas On A Small Generator Set, Bui Van Chinh, Khong Vu Quang, Khanh Nguyen Duc

ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development

This paper presents an experiment on syngas's influence on the performance and pollutant characteristics of a mechanical diesel engine generator set. Using syngas as an external fuel is good for medium and light loads of less than 80%. While a moderate substitution of syngas will contribute to good performance at high loads, a larger level of syngas provided may degrade engine performance. The brake-specific energy consumption rises as the replacement syngas flow increases. Using syngas as an external fuel to substitute for a part of the diesel might cause the engine to perform unstablely. The more syngas replacements, the greater …

Optimizing The Physical Properties Of Biochar For Co2 Adsorption Using Resonant Vibrations, Amirhosein Riahi, Richard Ladouceur Oct 2024

Optimizing The Physical Properties Of Biochar For Co2 Adsorption Using Resonant Vibrations, Amirhosein Riahi, Richard Ladouceur

Mining Engineering

Among various Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) technologies, significant emphasis has been placed on biochar as an effective post-combustion CO2 capture method. Biochar demonstrates potential as a technically effective method for stabilizing carbon. However, the efficacy of CCS based on adsorption phenomenon depends on factors such as the CO2 uptake of the adsorbent, kinetic rates, and cyclic adsorption. The study shows that Low-Frequency High Amplitude (LFHA) resonant vibratory mixing improves the physical characteristics and adsorption properties of hemp biochar. According to the results of an analysis of variance (ANOVA), increasing both the mass of biochar and the intensity of resonant …

Advancements In The Programmable Hyperspectral Seawater Scanner Measurement Technology For Enhanced Detection Of Harmful Algal Blooms, John J. Langan, Jungyun Bae

Michigan Tech Publications

The Programmable Hyperspectral Seawater Scanner (PHySS) represents a significant breakthrough in monitoring harmful algal blooms (HABs), specifically targeting the “Florida red tide” caused by Karenia brevis. By utilizing a Fourth-Derivative Spectral Similarity Index (SI), this study establishes a strong positive correlation between the SI and phytoplankton counts, underscoring the PHySS’s potential for early detection and effective management of HABs. Our findings suggest that the PHySS could act as a predictive tool, offering crucial lead time to mitigate the ecological and economic repercussions of blooms. However, this study also identifies certain limitations of the PHySS technology, such as its inability to …
