งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและประเมินสิทธิภาพของโครงสร้างเหล็กกล่องเติมด้วยคอนกรีตกำลังสูง (High-Strength Concrete-Filled Steel Tube, HSCFST) สำหรับการประยุกต์ใช้กับบ้านพักอาศัย อันเป็นการตอบสนองต่อปัญหาการขาดแคลนแรงงานฝีมือ การเพิ่มขึ้นของค่าแรง และความจำเป็นในการลดระยะเวลาการก่อสร้างและต้นทุน การศึกษาได้พิจารณากรณีบ้านพักอาศัยสูง 3 ชั้น จำนวน 4 หลัง โดยทำการจำลองโครงสร้างด้วยโปรแกรม ETABS เพื่อตรวจสอบพฤติกรรมการรับแรงในแนวดิ่งและแรงจากแผ่นดินไหวของโครงสร้าง ซึ่งการออกแบบเสาเหล็กกล่องเติมด้วยคอนกรีตกำลังสูงอ้างอิงมาตรฐาน AISC 360-22 (LRFD) ผลการออกแบบพบว่าสามารถลดขนาดเสาให้เล็กลงเหลือ 125 มิลลิเมตร และ 150 มิลลิเมตร เพื่อให้มีขนาดไม่เกินความหนาของผนังบ้านได้เมื่อใช้คอนกรีตที่มีกำลังรับแรงอัดสูงกว่า 60 เมกะปาสคาล ร่วมกับเหล็กกล่องชนิดที่มีจำหน่ายในท้องตลาด โดยโครงสร้างที่ได้ออกแบบทั้ง 4 หลัง พบว่ามีประสิทธิภาพในการรับน้ำหนักบรรทุกและแรงแผ่นดินไหวดีกว่าโครงสร้างคอนกรีตเสริมเหล็กแบบเดิมในทุกด้าน ทั้งยังพบว่ามีต้นทุนการก่อสร้างที่ต่ำกว่าเสาคอนกรีตเสริมเหล็กอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ นอกจากนี้ยังได้ทำการทดสอบเสาเหล็กกล่องเติมด้วยคอนกรีตกำลังสูงในห้องปฏิบัติการ เพื่อเปรียบเทียบกำลังรับแรงอัดกับค่าที่ได้จากสมการทำนายตามมาตรฐาน AISC 360-22 พบว่าค่าที่ได้จากการคำนวณมีค่าต่ำกว่าผลการทดสอบจริงค่อนข้างมาก ส่งผลให้เกิดความมั่นใจยิ่งขึ้นต่อการนำเสาเหล็กกล่องเติมด้วยคอนกรีตกำลังสูงไปใช้จริงในงานก่อสร้างบ้านพักอาศัย

This thesis explores an application of reinforcement learning (RL) in maintenance optimization. Recent advances in hardware-accelerated computation and deep learning have made RL a powerful tool for solving optimization problems which are too complex for traditional methods. Maintenance optimization involves improving the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance activities through data-driven approaches, ultimately reducing costs and increasing asset availability. Making informed maintenance decisions is crucial to long-term sustainability.

State Departments of Transportation (DOTs) are responsible for maintaining approximately 623,000 bridges across the United States. Effective bridge management requires a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing structural deterioration. Numerous studies have explored the effects of average daily traffic (ADT) and deck area (DA) on bridge deck deterioration. Given the interdependence between bridge decks and superstructures, it is plausible that ADT and DA significantly influence superstructure condition ratings and deterioration trends. The Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) method is a widely implemented trenchless technology for the rehabilitation of deteriorated pipelines, offering benefits such as cost-effectiveness and reduced surface disruption. However, the CIPP installation process, particularly during curing, raises concerns over the emission of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), which can adversely impact worker safety, public health, and environmental standards. Efficient pavement management is essential for keeping university parking lots in good condition. At the University of Texas at Arlington, parking areas experience heavy use and environmental wear, which can cause damage if not addressed early. The purpose of this combined laboratory and field study was to evaluate field-curing methods of concrete specimens for estimating the early opening strength of an in-place concrete item. One Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) class PV mix was used to cast cylinders, beams, and in-place concrete slabs in October 2021 and February 2022. Concrete cylinders were cured using three methods: ambient air (method #C1), an insulated box/cooler (method #C2), and a power-operated box (method #C3). ในสภาพการจราจรจริง การไหลของกระแสจราจรมักถูกรบกวนจากยานพาหนะที่จอดเพื่อรับ–ส่งผู้โดยสาร ส่งผลให้ยานพาหนะที่ขับขี่ตามมามีสองทางเลือก ได้แก่ การรอให้ยานพาหนะด้านหน้าเคลื่อนตัวต่อไป หรือการเปลี่ยนช่องจราจรไปยังช่องที่สามารถเคลื่อนที่ได้ ซึ่งทั้งสองทางเลือกล้วนทำให้ประสิทธิภาพการไหลของจราจรลดลงเมื่อเทียบกับกรณีที่ไม่มีการรบกวนดังกล่าว ในปัจจุบัน การใช้แบบจำลองจราจรช่วยให้สามารถทำความเข้าใจและคาดการณ์สภาพการจราจรได้โดยไม่ต้องทดลองในพื้นที่จริง แต่แบบจำลองทั่วไปยังขาดความเฉพาะเจาะจงเมื่อต้องเผชิญสถานการณ์เฉพาะทาง โดยมักใช้พฤติกรรมพื้นฐานเพียงชุดเดียวในการแทนพฤติกรรมผู้ขับขี่ทุกกรณี งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาพฤติกรรมการเปลี่ยนช่องจราจรของผู้ขับขี่เมื่อแล่นตามหลังรถที่จอดรับ–ส่งผู้โดยสาร จากนั้นนำพฤติกรรมที่ได้จากภาคสนามไปใช้ในการพัฒนาแบบจำลองสภาพจราจรใน PTV VISSIM และทำการเปรียบเทียบกับพฤติกรรมจริง ข้อมูลภาคสนามถูกเก็บรวบรวมด้วยการบันทึกวิดีโอและประมวลผลด้วย Video Analytics ก่อนนำไปสร้างแบบจำลอง ผลการศึกษาพบว่า แบบจำลองสามารถจำลองพฤติกรรมการเริ่มต้นเข้าสู่การเปลี่ยนช่องจราจรได้ใกล้เคียงกับข้อมูลจริง โดยช่องว่างเชิงเวลา (Lag Gap) ของยานพาหนะที่ขับขี่ตามมามีค่าเฉลี่ย 0.425 วินาทีในภาคสนาม และ 0.375 วินาทีในแบบจำลอง อย่างไรก็ตาม แบบจำลองยังไม่สามารถสะท้อนพฤติกรรมการเปลี่ยนช่องจราจรได้ครบถ้วนทุกด้าน ซึ่งเป็นประเด็นที่ควรได้รับการพัฒนาเพิ่มเติมในงานวิจัยอนาคต

Cold-formed tub girders provide an effective steel solution for short-span bridges. The girders are often delivered with an open top with stay-in-place forms installed on site. Walkways may be installed to the side of the girder that can induce significant torsion rotations in the open cross section. Full scale tests on girder specimens have shown that installing one or two panels of stay in place forms at the ends of the girder can significantly reduce the torsion rotation of the girder by providing warping resistance. Over four billion pounds of carpet are discarded annually in the United States, making carpet waste a significant environmental concern. Calcium carbonate (CaCo₃) constitutes up to 45% of the mass of most synthetic carpets. Reusing this CaCo₃ as a filler in the rapidly growing fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) industry, which is projected to reach USD 10.38 billion, presents a low-cost, practical approach to developing a market-based solution to post-consumer carpet waste.

The objective of this research is to support sustainable procurement of concrete pavements by linking materials-level global warming potential (GWP) to the project-level. Infrastructure owners require reliable environmental product declarations (EPDs) and methodologies for integrating GWP into the procurement process to ensure equitable decision-making. This work provides insights into current EPD reliability by assessing the sensitivity of concrete GWP to materials-level contributors to recommend a level of supply chain specificity needed to effectively communicate GWP. The absence of adequate parking facilities in residential and public areas remains a significant issue in developing countries, often disrupting economic activities and environmental quality. In Keffi town, the increasing demand for parking exceeds the available supply, leading to congestion and inefficiency. This study evaluates the current public parking facilities, focusing on provision levels, infrastructure conditions, and management frameworks. Primary data were gathered using structured questionnaires and direct observations, with 328 valid responses analyzed through descriptive statistics. Urbanization and climate change are significant drivers of rising Land Surface Temperature (LST) and the formation of Urban Heat Islands (UHIs), which have emerged as pressing environmental challenges in recent decades. This study examines the relationship between Land Use/Cover (LU/C) indices and LST in Kaduna, Nigeria, using multi-temporal Landsat imagery spanning five periods from 2001 to 2021. Mass housing projects in Northern Nigeria often suffer from insufficient risk management, impacting timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards. This study assesses risk vulnerabilities in selected mass housing infrastructure projects, focusing on information risks related to roles, responsibilities, scope, requirements, and operations. A mixed-methods approach was employed, with data collected from 465 construction professionals across 20 states, with a 64.58% response rate. Analytical tools, including regression and Pearson correlation, identified critical risks such as underfunding, weak project monitoring and control, and the failure to deliver end-user value. This study investigates the influence of logistics factors on the procurement of construction materials in Lokoja, Kogi State, aiming to identify and rank the critical elements affecting material procurement in building projects. A total of 250 questionnaires were distributed across nineteen neighborhoods in Lokoja using a random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while the T-test assessed the significance of identified logistics factors.
