The purpose of this project was to design a one-year curriculum for 3 to 5 year old low-income and minority children in the Pasadena and Glendale area, with the goal of child-initiated learning. The content of the curriculum will consist of a modification of the High/Scope program, consisting of an active learning program and using a plan-do-review sequence. The proposed early childhood curriculum relies heavily on active, child-initiated learning experiences during which children plan, or express their intentions, carry out their intentions in play experiences and then reflect on their accomplishments.

This curriculum will be used to replace existing curriculum in the Camera, Stripping and Platemaking course taught in The Graphics Technology Department of Riverside Community College (RCC), Riverside, California.
