This study explored the use of Indigenous storytelling in the planning and teaching of mathematical content. In collaboration with Indigenous and non-Indigenous educators, a culturally inclusive mathematical lesson was developed, implemented, and reviewed in an elementary school in Northern Ontario. This study used a culturally authentic approach to address the current educational issue of diversity within the Ontario curriculum and education system. The results of this study suggested that utilizing Indigenous storytelling for teaching mathematical curricular expectations could benefit both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students. This comparative study explored self-efficacy and ability for scientifically-based literacy instruction between a traditional and residency model of teacher preparation. Pre-/post-survey data was collected using the Teachers’ Sense of Efficacy for Literacy Scale. Mentor teachers completed a modified version of the survey on candidates’ abilities. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests, independent sample t-tests, and a trend analysis. Results revealed that candidates in the Residency Model held higher levels of self-efficacy for literacy instruction than in the Traditional Model. Many students have an operational view of the equals sign. This conception is seen as a misconceptions. This study aims to investigate the extent to which students have misconceptions about equality, where the equal sign is the focus. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. A total of 35 students in the city of Bandung became participants in this study. The results of the study reported that there were several misconceptions such as closing, using all numbers in the equation, string operations, and “pindah ruas”.

This study attempts to investigate EFL teachers’ strategies in motivating low-achieving learners in online classes from the perspective of twenty-five English teachers and thirty low-achieving learners. The data were collected through a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. The result of the study revealed that there were some foremost motivational teaching strategies applied by EFL teachers to deal with low-achieving learners during online classes; monitoring students’ activities, showing the importance of English, clarifying difficult topics, caring about students’ learning progress, and explaining topics clearly and specifically.

The objective of this research is to investigate variances in the patterns of the correlation between academic motivation, procrastination, and GPA among students from different universities in Surabaya. This research was conducted using a correlational method involving 1,060 students from four years: 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 (n respectively 209, 187, 232, 432). The sampling method was accidental random sampling from February to May 2021. The results showed that GPA, academic motivation, and procrastination fluctuated differently depending on the year of study. This present study seeks to discover emotional and intellectual intelligence influences on teachers’ performance in the learning-teaching processes. The method used in this study is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using literature published between 2013 - 2022 accessed through Google Scholar. The study’s results indicate that emotional intelligence does not dominate in improving teachers’ performance in learning-teaching processes. Additionally, emotional intelligence and intellectual intelligence may or may not have an impact on teachers’ performance. As teacher education programs become increasingly organized around accreditation and licensure standards, finding opportunities to be responsive to teacher candidates' needs and interests has become more difficult. This paper traces the evolution of a professional learning community for secondary social studies teacher candidates as a key feature of one teacher education program and analyzes the collaborative projects designed for the purpose of developing horizontal expertise. We find that professional learning communities can serve as dynamic spaces to co-construct learning experiences with candidates in ways that prepare them for future professional learning as practicing social studies teachers.

The effects of the activity on students’ ability to replicate the actions of settlers taking the journey to the western territories in search of gold. Incorporating Robert Stahl’s four decision-making phases, students negotiate social, political, and economic issues associated with the mining town of Bodie, California. This study was conducted in the context of a near-port community in which vehicular electrification efforts were occurring. Electric vehicles (EVs) and their associated infrastructures—including charging stations and wirelessly charging roads—may redress environmental injustices near inland ports because they significantly reduce vehicular emissions that harm human health. However, if the sociotechnical infrastructures associated with EVs are not intentionally planned to bring benefits to historically minoritized communities, they run the risk of reproducing interrelated transportation, economic, and environmental injustices.
