The purpose of this quantitative causal-comparative research study was to compare the impact that half-day and full-day prekindergarten had on economically disadvantaged students on Grade 3 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) Reading test results. Data from students who previously attended a half-day and full-day prekindergarten program were analyzed to see which program had a greater impact on STAAR reading scores at the conclusion of third grade. The comparison included two urban school districts with an economically disadvantaged threshold of 70% or greater. Teacher attrition is a problem currently afflicting classrooms around the world. Emotional exhaustion and teacher self-efficacy have been demonstrated to be factors in attrition. This study assesses the efficacy of potential tools for use in evaluating emotional exhaustion and self-efficacy before problems arise and to guide professional development in efficacious directions.

Background: Orbital tumors are uncommon entities seen by optometrists. They may initially present as common, benign conditions, but if not appropriately diagnosed can lead to devastating results.

Case Report: This case report demonstrates an atypical presentation of adenocarcinoma that was initially diagnosed as preseptal cellulitis. The patient in this case was ultimately referred for imaging and biopsy to reveal the correct diagnosis. Despite treatment, this patient died about 1 year after his clinical presentation.

Background: Solitary trichoepithelioma is a rare benign tumor of hair follicle origin. Although trichoepithelioma has a predilection for the face and neck, it is not usually found on the eyelids. This study aimed to determine the ability to solve chemical problems at the symbolic level of chemistry education students and to determine student responses to the Three Tier test question model. The method used descriptive. The sample this study were chemistry education students at Halu Oleo University with totalling 73 students. Data collection in this study was carried out using research instruments in the form of Three Tier Test questions and student response questionnaires to the question model. The analysis results show that 16.3% of students understand the concept, 60.3% have misconceptions, and 23.4% do not understand the concept.

This study aims to explore lecturers’ perceptions and practices of humor usage in EFL classrooms. This qualitative study used questionnaires and interview protocols to get data from two senior English lecturers who use humor in their classrooms at an English department of a public university in Indonesia. The result reveals that humor, particularly jokes and spontaneous humor are practical and beneficial for learning English in higher education. However, in delivering humor, the lecturers should consider the setting (time and place), college students’ vocabulary level, age, and sex; humor should not offend them culturally and be understandable.

The increasing prevalence of the overuse of social media among adolescents has raised concerns. Educators worry that it may decrease the cognitive functioning of these adolescents. This study of 245 secondary-school students in Palu, Indonesia, reveals that there is a correlation between these students’ diminished perceived attention and the intensity of their internet and social media use. Due to their eagerness to multitask, students who check their social media notifications while doing their online learning experience perceived attention discontinuity. This study suggests the significance of prevention and intervention for adolescents’ media-related problems as they multitask in their online learning environments.

Multiple linear regression analysis is used in this work. This systematic literature review examines research on U.S. professional development (PD) in which practicing teachers are asked to engage explicitly with race and racism. Using Kennedy’s PD theories of action, this review examines 64 studies published from 1981 to 2019 and analyzes race-related PD goals, pedagogical approaches, and documented outcomes of PD. The body of scholarship shows an array of PD program goals, often-limited pedagogical explicitness and detail, and descriptive and developmental outcomes.
