This study was designed to examine the benefits of positive school climate and to measure the perceptions of school climate for intermediate grades in a Northeast Tennessee School district. An online school climate survey was used to collect responses from participants in intermediate grades and focused on the 3 major components of school climate: school engagement, school environment, and school safety. Data were collected for 2 consecutive years in 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. The purpose of this feasibility study is to provide evidence of how integrating reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills into eighth-grade social studies instruction facilitates student understanding of content material and ability to write about social studies content. This dissertation examined a combined approach to teach novel vocabulary in English and Spanish for dual language learners prior to an English storybook read- aloud in a preschool setting. The 6-week intervention study was conducted in a Head Start program in the U. S. Mountain West with 60 dual-language preschoolers randomly assigned to small groups to receive the vocabulary intervention, using images and word definitions from researcher-trained teachers, teacher assistants or parent volunteers.

This project began with an interest in learning about the experiences of educators working with undocumented high school students in San Diego County. The backdrop for this study is the current anti-immigrant climate, specifically targeting Latinx undocumented immigrants. Educators in the San Diego County are working in a context where immigration authorities are deporting their students’ family members. Our aim is to begin painting a picture of who these educators are and some of the practices they employ to support their undocumented students. We hope our findings will begin to support educators and in turn their students.

The research is a quasi experiment that aims to determine the problem solving ability of students who learn with Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and conventional. PjBL can increase problem solving abilities of students. Data analysis was obtained from students' pretest and post test results using SPSS. Based on the analysis of one path anova obtained F-count 168.86 with P-value (0.000 <0.05) which means there is a very significant difference of problem-solving ability between experiment class and control class. The average score of experimental class problem-solving abilities is higher than the control class. Students are still having difficulties at the Specific Application of Physics and Logical Progression.

This study aims to describe mastery of high school students concept on static fluid material. The method used is descriptive analysis. Data were taken from 69 students of MAN 1 Tulungagung 12th grade. The instrument consists of nine items of multiple choice test with reason. The result of the analysis shows that the students' mastery of concept on static fluid material is good with average value of 63.45. Students have some difficulty especially at the hydrostatic pressure of a system that has different room. Almost students are difficult when comparing the bouyant force an object under different conditions.

This study aims to find out the effect of PBL with procedural scaffolding toward high-order thinking skills in terms of students' high and low ability. This research used non equivalent control group design with 34 students of experimental class and 35 students of control class. The hypothesis test of this study used Two-Way ANOVA and showed that the effect of PBL with procedural scaffolding was 42.5%, while the effect of students' initial ability was 37.9%. The mean posttest grade of the experimental class is higher than the control class, indicating that PBL with procedural scaffolding affects students' high-order thinking skill.

This paper presents an autoethnographic account of a classroom teacher’s experience transitioning to teaching online within the shifting culture of academe in the 21^st Century. After decades as a classroom teacher, the author engages in autoethnography to reflexively analyze her challenging transition to teaching online. The author examines her perspectives, beliefs, thought process, learning, and development. Findings regarding her new way of teaching, thinking, and living as an online instructor may provide insights for others in academe.
