Student demographic characteristics of gender and race/ethnicity, students’ spatial-content knowledge as measured by pre-instructional performance on the Lunar Phases Concept Inventory (LPCI) (Lindell & Olsen), and post-instructional performance on the Purdue Visualization of Rotations Test (PSVT) (Bodner & Guay, 1997), and teachers’ spatial-content knowledge as measured by the two assessments were considered to predict students’ overall understanding of lunar phases as measured by post-instructional results on the LPCI. A mixed modeling approach was used in a hierarchal manner to evaluate the student learning outcomes. More than 2.6 million troops have deployed in support of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Still, surveys reveal that more than half feel “disconnected” from their civilian counterparts, and this feeling persists despite ongoing efforts, in the academy and elsewhere, to help returning veterans overcome physical and mental wounds, seek an education, and find meaningful ways to contribute to society after taking off the uniform. Little is known about FGS who graduate and are successful in their discipline. The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore factors that influenced the persistence of FGS who graduated and are employed in the healthcare field. The theoretical framework consisted of experiential learning, identity development and environmental influence, and social cognitive career theories. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of e-mail specific performance feedback (ESPF) on increasing the quantity and quality of pre-school teacher behavior specific praise (BSP) using a multiple probe design across 4 general education pre-school classrooms which included students with and without disabilities. Researchers also wanted to examine the effects of the teacher’s BSP on student’s task engagement during class activities. Results indicated a functional relation between ESPF and increasing the quantity and quality of BSP statements. Results also indicated that increased quantity and quality of BSP statements increased average task engagement across all student participants.

This study investigated eight prekindergarten teachers’ underlying assumptions about how children learn, and how these assumptions were used to inform and enact instruction. By contextualizing teachers’ knowledge and understanding as it is used in practice we were able to provide unique insight into the work of teaching. Participants focused on children’s ability to remember information, frequently through engagement and repetition. Teachers also anticipated what children would be learning in the early elementary years and taught that content, yet they did not necessarily expect children to remember the information, or even know if children learned the information. This study examines teachers’ sense of personal and collective efficacy in two similar schools in Appalachian communities that achieved different results regarding students’ accountability test scores. Prior work in teacher efficacy, which is predominantly quantitative, is extended by the addition of teacher interviews that explore how teachers define the problems they face regarding student performance and how they work individually and collectively on strategies to support students’ success. The findings support that teachers with higher levels of efficacy in their work are associated with higher levels of student success. Many teachers state that students who complete homework perform better academically. The current study analyzed whether homework planners (trackers) had any positive effect on the academic performance of 16 seventh grade students in a very small and rural school district. The study compares two different classroom management strategies in a 5th and 6th grade classroom using an iPad based intervention. The students participated in 10 sessions of a language and grammar intervention on the Moby Max program. During five of the sessions, the teacher actively monitored the classroom, walking around the room, and redirecting students as necessary. For the other five sessions, the teacher used data from the intervention and monitored and redirected students from her computer screen. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและความคาดหวังของครูเกี่ยวกับการนิเทศการสอนครูผู้สอนภาษาอังกฤษ 2) เพื่อเสนอแนวทางในการนิเทศการสอนครูผู้สอนภาษาอังกฤษ ดำเนินการเป็น 2 ตอน โดยตอนที่ 1 การศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและความคาดหวังของครูเกี่ยวกับการนิเทศการสอนครูผู้สอนภาษาอังกฤษ ประชากร คือ โรงเรียนระดับประถมศึกษา จำนวน 431 โรงเรียน กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 431 คน สุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจง เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย แบบสอบถาม 1 ฉบับ แบบมาตราส่วนประมาณค่า วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลหาค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และวิเคราะห์การจัดลำดับความสำคัญของการต้องการจำเป็นโดยวิธี Modified Priority Needs Index (PNI) ตอนที่ 2 การศึกษาแนวทางการนิเทศการสอนครูภาษาอังกฤษ เก็บข้อมูลโดยการสัมภาษณ์ จาก ศึกษานิเทศก์ จำนวน 5 คน ผู้บริหารโรงเรียน จำนวน 5 คน ครูผู้นิเทศการสอนภาษาอังกฤษ จำนวน 5 คน รวม 15 คน เครื่องมือในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล คือ แบบสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้าง ใช้การวิเคราะห์เชิงเนื้อหา
ผลการวิจัย พบว่า แนวทางการนิเทศการสอนครูผู้สอนภาษาอังกฤษ ด้านหลักสูตร 1) ควรกำหนดนโยบายการนิเทศการสอนครูผู้สอนภาษาอังกฤษอย่างเป็นระบบ 2) ควรจัดอบรมให้ความรู้เรื่องการพัฒนาหลักสูตรภาษาอังกฤษสำหรับนักเรียนกรุงเทพมหานครโดยเฉพาะ เช่น หลักสูตรท้องถิ่นเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ หลักสูตร Jolly phonics เป็นหลักสูตรเพิ่มเติมทุกโรงเรียน 3) ต้องมีนโยบายให้ครูจัดทำและส่งแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้เป็นประจำ ติดตาม ประเมินผลอย่างต่อเนื่อง 4) ควรนิเทศการสอนครูผู้สอนโดยการนิเทศแบบคลินิก Lesson Study, Instructional Rounds หรือ Mini Observation เป็นต้น ด้านการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนการสอน 1) ควรจัดอบรมเพื่อพัฒนาครูด้านการจัดการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษแนวใหม่ตามกรอบมาตรฐานความสามารถทางภาษาอังกฤษที่เป็นสากล (CEFR) 2) ควรจัดศึกษานิเทศก์ภาษาอังกฤษให้มีจำนวนเพียงพอที่จะสามารถนิเทศครูภาษาอังกฤษได้ทุกโรงเรียน 3) ส่งเสริมให้ครูผู้สอนภาษาอังกฤษและครูชาวต่างชาติ ร่วมกับโรงเรียนในเครือข่ายหรือสำนักงานเขต จัดกิจกรรมร่วมกัน 4) ควรจัดตารางสอนให้ครูไทยเข้าสอนควบคู่กับครูชาวต่างชาติ 5) ควรส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนให้ครูเข้ารับการอบรมเกี่ยวกับจัดการเรียนการสอนและต้องส่งรายงานการอบรมทุกครั้ง …
