This paper aims to explore how Madrasah EFL teachers manifest their agency in developing their professional identities. The study is a narrative inquiry involving eight EFL teachers from Madrasah around Indonesia. Data were collected through narrative frames followed by in-depth interviews to clarify blurred stories written in narrative frames. The data were analyzed and elaborated into three themes, the novices, beyond the shell: the journey to be professional teachers, and the lifelong learners. The result shows that the dynamic change enacted by Madrasah EFL teachers can be categorized into three dimensions, the iterational, the practical evaluative, and the projective dimension.

The focus for this research paper was to explore which math manipulatives are the most effective for each strand of the B.E.S.T. standards. The review of literature provided information about the history of math manipulatives, what are math manipulatives, B.E.S.T. standards, and the six strands. A review of the most commonly used math manipulatives was part of the literature viewed during the research process in order to see how those manipulatives can be connected to the B.E.S.T. standards, so that students can effectively understand more abstract concepts.

We conducted a qualitative review of the research literature on STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) related to high school students with disabilities (SWD). We selected and analyzed 53 articles to answer two questions: (1) How are high-school SWD prepared for careers in STEM? (2) How are educators prepared to support high-school SWD for opportunities in STEM? This study examined the implementation of the Question and Answer Relationship (QAR) Strategy during the teaching-learning process to enhance the critical reading skill of authentic texts. The study employed classroom action research of fourth-semester students at Tridinanti University. It was implemented for three cycles involving four phases; planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data were gathered using three different types of instruments, including interviews, observation, and tests of critical reading. This study aims at investigating Indonesian pre-service English teachers’ Foreign Language Teaching Anxiety (FLTA) in teaching English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) classes and to explore the factors of FLTA. The participants were six pre-service English teachers. The study employed a qualitative design and used observations and interviews as the methods of data collection. The study found that pre- service teachers experienced anxiety when opening the class, when students asked questions, and when they had mispronunciation or forgot certain vocabulary. The focus on learner-centred learning approaches is a concern which needs to be facilitated as a matter of study. Microlearning has evolved in facilitating learners in short learning activities as viewed through history. This paper aims to review the application of microlearning historically. This narrative study uses deconstruction techniques with a historical research approach consisting of (1) heuristics, (2) verification, (3) interpretation, and (4) historiography. The study found that microlearning is a development of the concepts of microteaching and microcontent. This paper can be used as a reference in the development of microlearning as research and learning in the future.

Using the narrative methodology, the data were collected from students’ reflective journals, recorded interviews, and a questionnaire. This study found that teachers’ instructional practices have assisted students during the learning process, for instance, the integration of technology has made students more engaged. This research addresses how student participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) project-based learning (PBL) education activities encourages underrepresented minority student achievement in STEM career field trajectories. Seven New Mexico high school counselors and 12 STEM organization personnel were interviewed during this study. Their responses represent the nuanced professional voices where New Mexico public education intersects with STEM student interest and cultural influence.

For students, STEM PBL can foster deep integration across educational disciplines and enhance STEM career trajectory interest and readiness. STEM education converged with PBL methodologies has the ability to leverage community support while broadening student networks. …

Despite the importance of faculty diversity training for advancing an inclusive society, little research examines whether participation improves inclusion perceptions and belongingness. Integrating training and diversity education literature concepts, this study examines the effectiveness of training targeting microaggressions in six STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) oriented departments at a research-intensive university. Reactions data collected at the end of face-to-face training suggested that participation generally increased inclusion understanding. Self-assessments on inclusion concepts collected from 45% of participants before and three weeks after training suggest participation increases perceptions of the importance of inclusion, microaggression allyship awareness, inclusive behaviors, and organizational identification. This dissertation describes a practitioner’s design-based development of a prototype chatbot to guide students in learning biological concepts of genetic mutations and protein synthesis. This chatbot’s architecture provides learning activities, feedback, and support throughout a series of short, connected lessons. The chatbot is designed to scaffold learners through a predict, observe, explain model of inquiry learning. The increasing prevalence of the overuse of social media among adolescents has raised concerns. Educators worry that it may decrease the cognitive functioning of these adolescents. This study of 245 secondary-school students in Palu, Indonesia, reveals that there is a correlation between these students’ diminished perceived attention and the intensity of their internet and social media use. Due to their eagerness to multitask, students who check their social media notifications while doing their online learning experience perceived attention discontinuity. This study suggests the significance of prevention and intervention for adolescents’ media-related problems as they multitask in their online learning environments.

The goal of this study was to identify the factors that affect geography students' abilities to use digital tsunami-based maps for disaster mitigation. Multiple linear regression analysis is used in this work. The findings demonstrated that students' learning outcomes in the disaster mitigation sub-materials were significantly impacted by the usage of digital maps in geography instruction.
