An Exploratory Study Of Research Utilization By Virginia Nurse Educators, Evelyn M. Clingerman

The purposes of this study were: to explore research utilization by three groups of Virginia nursing educators; and to determine if differences in stages of diffusion existed between nurse educators working in hospital diploma, associate degree and baccalaureate degree settings within the Commonwealth of Virginia. A stratified random sample included 28 hospital diploma, 41 associate degree and 37 baccalaureate degree nurse educators from the Commonwealth of Virginia, who completed the Nurse Educator Questionnaire (NEQ). Two free-response questions were used to identify factors which the nurse educators perceived as inhibitors and facilitators to research utilization. The results of a two-step mailed …

Consulting In Higher Education: Principles For Institutions And Consultants, Jon Wergin

American higher education is characterized by keen competition but also by a high degree of cooperativeness. This apparent paradox is illustrated by the extensive use of consultants. The typical higher education consultant is based on one campus and helps a competing institution become more effective. The net result is the reverse of Gresham's Law: good practice drives out bad, and the total enterprise of higher education benefits.

This handbook is intended to help colleges and universities make wise choices about consultants and derive the maximum benefit from them. It draws extensively from experiences of the Consultation and Advisory Service that …

The purpose of this study was to identify agribusiness skills required by a student for entry level employment in Nebraska agribusinesses. The specific objectives were:

1. To determine agribusiness skills perceived to be required for employment, by Nebraska agribusiness managers and vocational agriculture instructors,
2. To determine differences between the perceived importance of selected skills required for employment in an agribusiness, by Nebraska vocational agriculture instructors and agribusiness managers.

This paper begins by outlining an argument advanced against mathematical realism by Philip Kitcher. It then sketches the life and work of the great Christian philosopher and theologian, Augustine of Hippo. It discusses Augustine’s view that there exist eternal ideas in the mind of God that God used as templates in his creation of material objects. Among these are ideas about numbers and other mathematical objects. It also discusses Augustine’s understanding of how human beings have access to such ideas. It concludes with a discussion of some possible objections to Augustine’s perspective.

The purpose of this study was to determine the attitudes held by Nebraska superintendents, principals, and vocational agriculture instructors about the delivery of adult agricultural education programs within the public secondary school system. The specific objectives identified for investigation were to:

1. Determine if differences principals, and vocational agricultural education, in attitudes exist among superintendents, agriculture instructors toward adult agricultural education.
2. Determine if differences in attitudes exist between administrators (superintendents and principals) and vocational agriculture instructors toward adult agricultural education.

This study was designed to obtain a descriptive profile of teachers who were recipients of a Master of Science in Education degree in the field of Elementary Education at Eastern Illinois University. Specific background and attitudinal information was gathered from questionnaire responses.

The Master's Program Evaluation Instrument (MPE) was developed as the means of obtaining information on teachers’: perceptions of specific aspects of their master's program; plans for professional development; and satisfaction with the teaching profession.
