There are currently five main ways to advertise on the web: banner ads, direct e -mail, sponsorship, keyword, and link strategies such as micro-sites. Banners ads and e-mail have been touted a great deal in the media. This paper will examine banner ads, and their impact on online advertising.

Charlotte Danielson’s Enhancing Professional Practice: A Framework for Teaching, published by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development in 1996, evolved from the Educational Testing Service PRAXIS 111 and is based on the PRAXIS 1111 criteria, augmented to apply to experienced as well as novice teachers and used for purposes beyond licensing of beginning teachers (Danielson, Preface x). The Danielson Framework consists of four domains attributed to teaching activities and responsibilities: Planning and Preparation, the Classroom Environment, Instruction, and Professional Responsibilities. Teacher educators face a daunting task. As school populations diversify (Hill, 1989; Protheroe and Barsdate, 1991), the demographic trend among preservice teachers is toward more homogeneity (Cuellar and Huling-Austin, 1991; Jordan, 1995; Zimpher and Ashbum, 1989). In addition, these predominantly White, middle-class college students enter teacher education with limited experiences with persons from another ethnicity or social class (Banks, 1991; Finney and Orr, 1995; Garcia, 1993; Grant, 1991; Irvine, 1990 and 1992; Jordan, 1995; Ladson-Billings, 1991; Zimpher and Ashburn, 1989). This paper examines connections between theism and mathematical realism. Mathematical realism, which offers the best account of mathematics, strongly supports theism. Theism, in turn, supports mathematical realism. Theism readily explains the intricate relations between mathematics, matter, and mind. The attributes of the biblical God provide a justification for classical mathematics.

This paper treats worship in a broad, inclusive sense as the primary and necessary response of human beings to their creator. It provides a brief overview of the relationship between mathematics and theology from the Pythagoreans to the present. It argues that all knowledge is contingent upon faith and thus that contemplation of mathematical insights can lead to worship of God.

"We Are Going To Chattanooga": The Diary Entries Of Private Van Buren Oldham, April 14, 1863 To September 21, 1863, Dieter C. Ullrich

Faculty Research at Morehead State University

From April 14th to September 21st, 1863 Private Van Buren Oldham of Company G, 9th Tennessee Volunteers, served as a Confederate infantryman in the Army of Tennessee. During those five months he was one of many soldiers that helped build the defenses about Chattanooga, marched with Gen. Braxton Bragg to confront the Federal Army in southeast Tennessee and fought the bloody Battle of Chickamauga. Private Oldham arrived in Chattanooga as a parolee from a Union prison camp and would leave as a wounded combatant attempting to recapture the city.
