In this study a somewhat different line of research is attempted. The endeavor here is to evaluate two approaches to the teaching of work-type reading. One of these is the traditional or group plan, the other an individualized scheme a great deal like that recently mentioned by Washburn.

This study seeks to throw light on these questions by determining what relation exists between school attendance and achievement when intelligence is held constant.
