The instructional practices of the engineering design process and culturally responsive pedagogy have each garnered national attention and multiple decades of research. Findings from the respective literature bases call for educators and policymakers to integrate these two pedagogical approaches into K-12 classroom instruction. Scholars have argued that this integration would improve student engagement and academic achievement. There is a significant amount of research that supports the positive student outcomes associated with each approach, yet there remains a dearth of literature that addresses the integration of these two practices into the science and mathematics content areas. This research article discusses the theme relating to the infusion of sustainability in school economics. It stems from the researcher’s study that explores teaching and learning in secondary school economics in Malta. The underlying conceptual framework for this study is critical realism, which offers an understanding of the world that is real but which may be differently experienced and interpreted by different observers (Alderson, 2021; Bhaskar, 1979; Fletcher, 2017). This article describes design-based research undertaken by two teacher educators to support elementary preservice teachers (PSTs) in integrating culturally responsive teaching practices with reading methods. The study described was motivated by calls for teacher preparation programs to be more intentional about supporting PSTs in synthesizing their learning across courses, especially when it comes to culturally responsive reading pedagogies. Preservice teachers (PSTs) come to teacher education programs after many years as students in the K–12 school system—a system that is focused on standardized testing and inauthentic literacy practices. Teacher educators use ongoing written reflection to promote learning before, during, and after coursework and field experiences. In this study, the researchers examined the effects of ongoing written reflection on two groups of novice teachers’ knowledge, beliefs, and skills about literacy assessment in a semester-long graduate-level literacy assessment course with embedded fieldwork. A commonly held assumption is that young learners employ few, if any, cognitive and metacognitive strategies when engaged in literacy tasks. This article examined the use of film in higher education to inspire imagination and motivate learning in students with learning differences. It highlighted the benefits of film in enhancing education and fostering imagination and diverse, critical thinking. The findings demonstrated that film is a pedagogical instrument that may assist students with learning differences to access the curriculum better, provide alternative forms of creative and meaningful expression, and develop self-awareness, empathy, and social justice.

This portfolio explores students attainment on InTASC Standards 1 & 3 through ALEC 805: Advanced Teaching Strategies. Students completed an initial teaching roots reflection and a final education philosophy that served as the basis for analyzing growth in effective teaching. The purpose of this study was to determine curriculum developers in determining curriculum objectives, learning outcomes, and aspects of the design of English study programs. This research uses the descriptive qualitative method. Data triangulation, observation, interviews, and documentation were used to collect data using a list of questions related to the curriculum and documentation. The result of this finding is that the English department curriculum is by the applicable standards in Indonesia. In designing the language curriculum, there is only one aspect that has not been applied as an indicator in its design, namely environmental analysis.

Today's retail architecture is developed by creating experiences, sensory experience is one of its aspects. Design students are expected to understand the concept, so this study aims to explore the sensory experience of students in a special retail space, namely art fashion retail. This research uses the qualitative photo elicitation method, participants are brought into real retail space and follow-up interviews are accompanied by photos. The findings revealed that only a small of participants paid attention to both tangible and intangible elements. So, for further assessment, it is necessary to match knowledge between education and the real world.

This research aims to create a digital pocket book that supports reading skills and is based on Realistic Mathematics Education. Research and development are the term for this type of study. This development study was carried out with the use of a 4-D model. A total of 30 students from SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi participated in field trials. The digital pocketbook met the validity, practicality, and effectiveness requirements, according to the findings. Teachers should be able to develop creative ideas for developing teaching materials that support reading skills based on the findings of this study.

This present study investigated the impact of supplemental phonemic awareness lessons on phonological awareness and spelling development among kindergarten and first graders. The Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing (CTOPP-2) measured phonological awareness. The Kindergarten Inventory of Developmental Spelling (KIDS) measured spelling development in kindergarten students. The Developmental Spelling Analysis (DSA) measured spelling development in first grade. Individual Development Environments (IDE) can be inaccessible which make it difficult if not impossible for BLV students to complete coursework. Alternative techniques are described which will allow a BLV student to successfully complete coursework. The author has found the Command Line Interface (CLI) is often a recommended alternative to a Windows based IDE interface.
