The rate of unemployment for people with disabilities continues to rise greatly above that of people without disabilities. The issue seems to be exacerbated by employer biases and concerns which are not supported in the face of evidence. A lack of employer education on disability related subjects causes this misconception among both employers and the public as a whole. To resolve the underlying problem of miseducation, an increase in the self-identification of people with disabilities is necessary to provide researchers with data to assist in the formation of a revised curriculum.

The literature on rough-and-tumble play in Saudi Arabia is limited in scope, and more research is needed to explore teachers’ perceptions on this type of play for early learners. Furthermore, an individual education program (IEP) team is required by federal law to re-evaluate each student with a qualified disability tri-annually to assess his or her ongoing need for such services. The pathway toward initial eligibility is explicitly outlined within federal legislation; however, the law does not explicate an avenue for declassification or exiting from special education. Students with disabilities have been underrepresented in research examining the implementation of project-based learning (PBL) instruction. This qualitative case study described the experiences of a student with a disability in an inclusive classroom where teachers used PBL instruction. I used interviews, observations, audio recorded conversations in class, and analyzed teacher-created curriculum documents and student artifacts. Thematic analysis generated four primary themes including: Supporting students, student buy-in, teacher and student interactions in PBL are complex, and student demonstration of learning. Lower Merion School District (2015) and Endrew F. v. Douglas County School District (2017). This comparison reveals an ordering of special education policy around questions of race.
