This study evaluates the Oklahoma Televised Instruction System, through an analysis of the student support services to include the resources available to the learner, the communications process characterized by the coordination services provided among the on-campus and distance sites, and the communication process characterized by the mechanical and electronic transfer of information. The study also compares the attitudes and performance of the participating on-campus and distance students.

This research developed an approach for adapting a resident graduate course, offered by the School of Systems and Logistics, for delivery to remote students through distance education resources and techniques. A review of literature-along with personal interviews of professionals from the fields of education, telecommunications, and technology-provided the information for a model of distance education and an assessment of AFIT's existing and near future resources that may be applied to distance delivery of graduate courses. Compressed Digital Video Instructional Delivery: A Study Of Student Achievement, Student Attitude, And Instructor Attitude, Eddyth Niceler Worley

The purpose of this study was to investigate compressed digital video as an instructional delivery system for distance learning. The independent variable was delivery mode. Two levels of this variable were considered. Level 1 was one-way video/two-way audio. Level 2 was two-way video/two-way audio. Student achievement, student attitude, and instructor attitude were measured as dependent variables.

A quasi-experimental study comparing the two delivery modes was conducted. Two treatment groups were established. Both groups received instruction simultaneously from the same instructors. Instructors used both treatment modes (delivery systems) during instruction.
