With the COVID-19 pandemic, political unrest and long-needed reckonings on race, 2020 presented many challenges for teachers and principals. To help educators, students and parents during these times, Donna Kiel, director of DePaul’s Office of Innovative Professional Learning and a College of Education professor, joins the podcast to outline DePaul’s programs and efforts that helped local teachers and principals transition to remote learning. She also shares strategies on how to be an anti-racist educator and ways to help students become more resilient during tough times.

This poster presentation discussed how to use LibGuides to improve student learning in the classroom when the curriculum might not otherwise draw upon library resources. LibGuides can be created with links to specific open access resources, articles, and other items (as well as subscription resources) to support course assignments. Course LibGuides bring visibility to library resources that get overlooked and are easy to implement for distance learning or to complement other instructional materials.

National mapping agencies have at their disposal a number of resources for the continuing professional development of their staff. These range from attendance at full-time University programmes to short in-house tutorials and workshops. The Technological University Dublin has recently developed an eLearning course in ‘Co-ordinate reference systems for spatial information’ and piloted it with staff of Ordnance Survey Ireland and the Department of Lands and Surveys, Nicosia, Cyprus.
