The Effect Of Flexibility On Injury Prevention In Wrestling, Lamoin R. Merkley Jan 1973

The Effect Of Flexibility On Injury Prevention In Wrestling, Lamoin R. Merkley

All Master's Theses

This study investigates flexibility (range of joint motion) as a potential attributer or deterrent of injury prevention in wrestling. College wrestlers were measured for flexibility of nineteen joint motions with the Leighton Flexometer. Injuries were recorded and correlations were calculated between flexibility and number of injuries and between flexibility and severity of injuries.

It appears that wrestlers with high range of flexibility will have fewer injuries.
