Influence Of Intergenerational Parenting On Gross Motor Skills Among Children Aged 3-6 Years Old, Jiachen Lu, Xue Zhang, Yaohui He
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
The stage of 3-6 years old is a critical period for the development of children's gross motor skills, influencing their growth and development. Intergenerational parenting is a common way of family education in China. Studies have shown that the rough intergenerational parenting concept and limited energy of the elderly reduce the quality of life of the children under care (Qimeng Jiang, Nan Zhou, 2020). However, no research focused on the influence of intergenerational parenting on gross motor skills. This study aimed to explore the influence of different intergenerational parenting style on gross motor skills among children aged 3-6 years old. …

The Development Of College Ice Hockey In China: Leveraging The Success For Beijing 2022, Hongxin Li, Yunchao Bai
International Journal of Physical Activity and Health
After winning the right to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, ice hockey has become more popular in colleges in China. However, the challenges to college hockey’s development in China are not surprising as new markets tend to experience struggles due to the fluidity of logics (Thornton & Ocasio, 2008) and issues of establishing legitimacy (Deephouse & Suchman, 2008). Considering this, those hoping to establish new sport institutions within untapped contexts are burdened with the arduous task of simultaneously creating and maintaining institutional structures while working to establish legitimacy (Washington, 2004). In this study, we draw from the concept of institutional …

The Relationship Between Nature Connectedness And Physical Activity Patterns In A Sample Of Collegiate Students, Faculty, And Staff, Destinee Waddy
The Winthrop McNair Research Bulletin
PURPOSE: A strong relationship exists between physical activity (PA) and nature connectedness (NC); the most physically active individuals may also be the most nature connected. Designing PA programs and modifying college campuses through the lens of biophilia can provide a more logical, evidence-based approach to improve overall health and wellness. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between physical activity and nature connectedness in a sample of collegiate faculty and students. METHODS: Participants completed two previously validated surveys: The International Physical Activity Questionnaire and the Connectedness to Nature Survey. Demographic data (age, race, campus affiliation) were also …
