Engineering students are often distracted by surface details, leading to a faulty conception of the problem and inappropriate solution strategies. Group work is frequently incorporated into courses; however, student perceptions of their experiences and the benefits of group work might differ based on the structure of course. In this study, we examined student perceptions of group work in a team-based learning (TBL) course. This study aimed to improve students’ writing performance in ESP subject by implementing Flipped Classroom and Collaborative activities. Classroom action research was applied as the method in this study was. According to the data obtained, 88,89% of the students experienced improvement at least 10 points compared to their initial writing product. Students active participation also improved which was shown by the average score that was above 3,0 points obtained from peer assessment rubric. Therefore, the combination of these two strategies was proven successful in improving students’ writing performance in ESP subject.

Self-control helps junior high school students behave positively towards themselves and others. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the use of local wisdom in the cublak-cublak suweng game to the junior high school student self-control training. The research subjects were 8 junior high school students in Malang City using one group pretest-posttest design. Measurements used the Self-Control Scale and were analyzed by the Wilcoxon test and paired t-test. This study primarily wanted to explore students’ views and how they employ translation-related strategies to learn English. Five students from the accounting department, Universitas Negeri Malang participate in this qualitative case study. The findings showed that students consider translation has a positive contribution to their English learning. They also mentioned learning activities by using translation that can be categorized into several learning strategies. It is expected that the results of the study can raise awareness and exercise cautious use of translation as an effective learning strategy in English for the benefits of the students.

Plagiarism is one of academic dishonesty, which has become a central issue in the academic sector. The aims of this study were to investigate students understanding through plagiarism and also to examine the reason why they committed plagiarism. This study used a quantitative approach. To obtain the data, questionnaire and interview were used. The finding showed that their understanding of plagiarism bounded in citing without giving sources. Further, the result showed that lack of knowledge, lack of time and unintentionally committed plagiarism were the top three reasons why the graduate students committed plagiarism.

The aim of research was to describe the effect of the application of Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) integrated the Nature of Science (NOS) on student scientific literacy. The implementation design used was nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest design with research subjects using two classes namely VII C (control class) and VII D (experimental class) of SMP Laboratorium UM. Data was collected using a scientific literacy test and then analyzed descriptively and statistically and the results are that the application IBL integrated NOS influences students' scientific literacy with level of scientific literacy of students is included in the nominal and functional categories.

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of a scientific approach assisted by formative assessment of the motivation and results of physics learning students of class XI. The study used a quasi-experimental research design. The study involved 69 students of class XI. The experimental group received treatment in the form of a scientific approach with formative assessment, while the control class used the lecture method varied with assessment in the form of group assignments.
