All instructors--but particularly instructors who must teach students specific disciplinary ways of reading and writing--face a difficult position with AI. Students will need to use AI in collegiate and professional writing, but using AI for assignments can hinder critical thinking skills crucial to analyzing and correcting AI output. This presentation demonstrates three practices from our developmental English classrooms: a critical reading and writing summary assignment, AI-resistant rubrics, and an exercise to help students evaluate AI-generated suggestions on how to review their work. Commuter students at large public universities often face barriers to engaging in campus co-curricular activities, primarily due to off-campus commitments, which can affect their academic success and retention. Drawing on student engagement theory, this qualitative narrative study explores commuter students’ experiences with co-curricular involvement and its perceived impact on their academic performance, skill development, social connections, and persistence at a large public four-year university. Data collected through in-depth interviews with commuter undergraduates were analyzed to identify common themes regarding students' perspectives, challenges, and impact related to co-curricular activities. This study employed a convergent parallel mixed-methods design to explore the perceptions and experiences of occupational therapy (OT) fieldwork educators, academic fieldwork coordinators (AFWCs), and Level II OT students with disabilities regarding accommodations during fieldwork. Quantitative data were collected through an online Qualtrics questionnaire completed by 45 fieldwork educators. Qualitative data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with seven AFWCs and seven OT students/new graduates who had used Section 504 accommodations during Level II fieldwork. Thematic analysis revealed key themes among students and AFWCs, including barriers to disclosure, variability in support and communication, the need for proactive planning, and concerns regarding …

While standardized tests have become the norm for assessing language proficiency, they may not effectively capture the diversity of adult immigrants, including their backgrounds, experiences, and varying levels of language proficiency. Grounded in experiential learning theory, sociocultural theory on second language acquisition, and concepts of identity, motivation, and investment, this study explored how the Adult English Learning (AEL) program utilized different types of assessments, what the needs and goals of AEL students were in learning English, and how various stakeholders, including teachers, students, and program coordinator, perceived current assessments reflecting students’ needs and goals.

This thesis explores connections between the Kantian sublime and Anne Carson’s ideas regarding “eros.” Since Kant’s Critique of Judgement was published in 1790, the Kantian sublime has grown in popularity and been utilized by theorists and creative writers alike. While the Kantian sublime is often associated with nature in popular culture, there are certain egocentric and phallocentric elements of this mode of thinking that might inhibit a biocentric mindset. SBAE teachers face the same challenges that other educators face. The attrition rate of SBAE teachers is in line with the national average of teachers in other content areas, and researchers have studied to try to ascertain why some teachers stay while others leave the profession. This qualitative multiple-case study explored the role of educational administrators in shaping and sustaining positive school culture across three high schools in Alabama: a suburban public school, a rural public school, and a private Christian academy. Guided by transformational and ethical leadership theories, the study examined how administrators influence school climate, navigate challenges, and respond to external pressures. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and cultural artifact review. Findings revealed that administrators who modeled ethical leadership, maintained visibility, and fostered relational trust were more effective in cultivating inclusive, resilient, and values-driven school cultures. This qualitative study investigated the experiences and perceptions of caregivers for individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) in rural versus urban settings, with particular emphasis on their access to and utilization of community resources. Through semi-structured interviews with 30 caregivers, the research explored how geographical location impacts caregiving challenges, support systems, and resource accessibility. Using Andersen's Behavioral Model of Health Services Use as a theoretical framework, the study revealed both universal caregiving challenges and location-specific barriers. While all caregivers reported significant emotional burden and healthcare system navigation difficulties, rural caregivers faced distinct challenges related to resource accessibility and specialized care availability. …

Although PhD students are academically capable, they paradoxically produce alarmingly high attrition rates. For several years, retention rates in PhD programs have averaged between 40% and 70% (Ames et al., 2018; Bowen & Rudenstine, 1992; Cochran et al., 2014; Gardner & GoPaul, 2012; Lovitts, 2001; Rockinson-Szapkiw & Spaulding, 2012). Chronic neck and shoulder myofascial pain has long been challenging patients and medical professionals due to its limited response to traditional therapies on top of high recurrence. Physical therapy, oral analgesics, and trigger point injections have only provided partial or short-term relief. As a result, botulinum toxin type A injections have been explored as an alternative treatment. Previous studies have shown promising short-term outcomes, but concerns regarding long-term safety, cost-effectiveness, and potential adverse effects, particularly in older adults, have remained unresolved. This dissertation of practice examines the impact of developmental academic advising on student satisfaction and persistence at a four-year regional public university in the Midwest, focusing on first-year students. Using a quantitative approach, this study addresses gaps in the literature by examining the impact of developmental advising on student satisfaction and persistence.

These institutions often create conflict between students’ sexual identities and their faith before college life. This qualitative grounded theory study examined how new graduate nurses who entered practice just prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic developed and sustained resilience while navigating extraordinary professional and personal challenges. The study focused on associate degree nurses who graduated between December 2018 and May 2022 and were employed in acute and sub-acute care settings with direct patient care responsibilities, including the care of patients with COVID-19. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and reflective journal entries and analyzed using open, axial, and selective coding.

This critical quantitative analysis explores how social determinants of health, including basic needs security, caregiving and work responsibilities, healthcare access, discrimination experiences, and institutional support predict resilience among U.S. college women with dependents. Using data from the Spring 2021 ACHA-NCHA III survey (n = 4,417), this study integrated the Health Equity Framework with the Social Ecological Theory of Resilience to examine multilevel influences on resilience. Descriptive analyses highlighted disproportionate burdens among single, first-generation, and racially minoritized groups. Bivariate chi-square tests revealed significant associations between resilience and sense of belonging, basic needs security, employment, healthcare utilization, and self-assessed overall health. งานวิจัยนี้ เป็นงานวิจัยกึ่งทดลอง โดยทำการเก็บข้อมูลจาก อาสาสมัครนักศึกษา ที่มาจากวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพณิชยการปากช่อง อำเภอปากช่อง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา โดยใช้การเลือกแบบอาสาสมัคร ที่มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1)เพื่อศึกษาผลการจัดกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตรเสริมสร้างทักษะการคิดวิเคราะห์โดยใช้แนวคิดการเรียนรู้จากประสบการณ์ของนักศึกษาอาชีวศึกษา 2)เพื่อนำเสนอแนวทางการเสริมสร้างทักษะการคิดวิเคราะห์ของนักศึกษาอาชีวศึกษาจากกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตรโดยใช้แนวคิดการเรียนรู้จากประสบการณ์ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ในการเก็บข้อมูล คือ นักศึกษาอาชีวศึกษาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพณิชยการปากช่อง จำนวน 30 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ คือ 1)แผนการจัดกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตร 2)แบบทดสอบทักษะการคิดวิเคราะห์ของนักศึกษาอาชีวศึกษา 3)แบบประเมินผลความพึงพอใจในการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตร มีสถิติที่ใช้ ได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการทดสอบค่าทีแบบ dependent t-test ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1)ผลการวัดทักษะการคิดวิเคราะห์พบว่าคะแนนที่ได้จากการวัดทักษะการคิดวิเคราะห์รวมทุกด้าน นักศึกษาส่วนใหญ่มีทักษะการคิดวิเคราะห์อยู่ในระดับดีมากเมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้านการวิเคราะห์ความสำคัญ การวิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์และการวิเคราะห์หลักการพบว่าการวิเคราะห์หลักการมีค่าเฉลี่ยมากที่สุด ((X) = 4.60 , S.D. = 0.56) และการวิเคราะห์ความสำคัญค่าเฉลี่ยน้อยที่สุด ((X) = 3.14 , S.D. = 0.63) ผู้วิจัยจึงนำผลการจัดกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตร พบว่านักศึกษาอาชีวศึกษามีทักษะการคิดวิเคราะห์หลังจัดกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตรโดยใช้แนวคิดการเรียนรู้จากประสบการณ์สูงกว่าก่อนจัดกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตร อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 เพิ่มขึ้นทุกด้าน แสดงว่ากิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตรนี้มีเนื้อหาและกระบวนการถ่ายทอดทักษะความรู้ที่เหมาะสมในการเสริมสร้างนักศึกษาให้เกิดทักษะการคิดวิเคราะห์ 2)แนวทางการเสริมสร้างทักษะการคิดวิเคราะห์ของนักศึกษาอาชีวศึกษาประกอบด้วย 5 แนวทางดังนี้คือ 1)แนวทางระดับสถานศึกษาและหลักสูตรสร้างบรรยากาศการเรียนรู้ที่เปิดกว้างการเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาแสดงความคิดเห็นได้อย่างอิสระช่วยให้กล้าคิดวิเคราะห์ซึ่งเป็นหัวใจของการเรียนรู้จากประสบการณ์ 2)แนวทางระดับครูผู้สอนควรบูรณาการแนวคิดการเรียนรู้จากประสบการณ์เข้ากับกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตรอย่างเป็นระบบ โดยการส่งเสริม “การลงมือปฏิบัติจริง” และมีการสะท้อนคิดเพื่อให้ได้ฝึกการคิด วิเคราะห์ โดยเฉพาะในสาขาวิชาที่ต้องใช้ทักษะวิชาชีพ โดยครูมีบทบาทเป็น “ผู้อำนวยความรู้” มากกว่าการเป็นผู้ถ่ายทอดความรู้ 3)แนวทางระดับนักศึกษาจัดกิจกรรมที่ให้นักศึกษาได้ลงมือปฏิบัติจริงซึ่งช่วยพัฒนาทักษะการคิดวิเคราะห์ได้เป็นอย่างดี 4)แนวทางการประเมินผลใช้การประเมินจากผลงานจริงการสังเกตพฤติกรรม 5)แนวทางการประยุกต์ใช้ในระดับผู้บริหารนโยบายการศึกษาสนับสนุนการบูรณาการเทคโนโลยีและสื่อดิจิทัลในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลให้นักศึกษาใช้เทคโนโลยีในการค้นคว้า วิเคราะห์และนำเสนอข้อมูลโดยเปิดโอกาสให้ได้เรียนรู้ผ่านสถานการณ์จริงพร้อมโครงการนำร่องเพื่อเป็นแนวทางให้ครูและผู้บริหารสามารถนำมาปรับใช้ต่อยอดในบริบทของตนเองได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาปัญหาและความต้องการในการเรียนรู้ด้วยการชี้นำตนเองเพื่อเสริมสร้างทักษะการวิจัยบนพื้นฐานหลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ทางการแพทย์ 2) พัฒนาโปรแกรมการเรียนรู้ด้วยการชี้นำตนเองเพื่อเสริมสร้างทักษะการวิจัยบนพื้นฐานหลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ทางการแพทย์ 3) นำเสนอปัจจัยแห่งความสำเร็จและปัจจัยที่เป็นอุปสรรคต่อการใช้โปรแกรมการเรียนรู้ด้วยการชี้นำตนเองเพื่อเสริมสร้างทักษะการวิจัยบนพื้นฐานหลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ทางการแพทย์ที่พัฒนาขึ้น ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบผสมผสานวิธี ทั้งการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณและเชิงคุณภาพ โดยใช้การทดลองแบบกลุ่มทดลองเดียว มีการวัดผลก่อนและหลังการทดลอง ซึ่งครอบคลุมการวิจัย 3 ระยะ ดังนี้ ระยะที่ 1 ศึกษาปัญหาและความต้องการ เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลด้วยการสนทนากลุ่มกับผู้เข้าร่วม 7 คน ประกอบไปด้วย ผู้บริหาร อาจารย์แพทย์ แพทย์ประจำบ้าน เพื่อระบุประเด็นที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการพัฒนาทักษะการวิจัย ระยะที่ 2 พัฒนาและทดลองโปรแกรม โดยโปรแกรมพัฒนาขึ้นด้วยบูรณาการร่วมกัน 3 แนวคิด ประกอบไปด้วย แนวคิดการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนของ Boyle (1981) แบบจำลองการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียนของ Boyle (1981) โดยใช้แนวคิดกระบวนการเรียนรู้ด้วยนการชี้นำตนเอง 7 ขั้นตอนของ Knowles (1975;1980) และแนวคิดหลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ทางการแแพทย์ของ Sackett (1997;2000) เป็นเนื้อหา กลุ่มทดลองประกอบด้วย อาจารย์แพทย์ และแพทย์ประจำบ้าน จำนวน 30 คน ซึ่งได้รับการคัดเลือกโดยการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบง่าย เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบประเมินทักษะการวิจัย และแบบสอบถามความพึงพอใจ ระยะที่ 3 ศึกษาปัจจัยแห่งความสำเร็จและปัจจัยที่เป็นอุปสรรค ใช้การสัมภาษณ์เพื่อระบุปัจจัยแห่งความสำเร็จและอุปสรรคที่พบในระหว่างการใช้งานโปรแกรม ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. ปัญหาและความต้องการ โดยปัญหาถูกจัดประเภทเป็น 3 บริบทที่เชื่อมโยงกัน ได้แก่ 1) หลักสูตรและการเรียนการสอน 2) ผู้เรียน และกระบวนการเรียนรู้ 3) สภาพแวดล้อม และแหล่งเรียนรู้ ส่วนความต้องการประกอบด้วยแนวคิดพื้นฐานด้านการวิจัย วิธีการวิจัยที่เหมาะสม และการใช้การวิจัยบนพื้นฐานเชิงประจักษ์อย่างมีเหตุผล ขณะที่การพัฒนาทักษะวิจัยจำเป็นต้องอาศัยการประยุกต์ใช้ในทางปฏิบัติ 2. โปรแกรมการเรียนรู้ ประกอบด้วย 1) วัตถุประสงค์ 2) ผู้เรียน 3) ผู้สอน 4) เนื้อหาสาระ 5) กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ 6)แหล่งเรียนรู้ด้วยตนเอง 7) การติดตามและการประเมินผลการเรียนรู้ ผลการใช้โปรแกรมพบว่า ด้านผลลัพธ์การเรียนรู้ของกลุ่มทดลอง คะแนนความรู้การวิจัยหลังการทดลองสูงกว่าก่อนการทดลอง โดยพบความแตกต่างของค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนความรู้การวิจัยมีนัยอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ …
