The Essence Of Reincarnation And Consciousness As A Gateway Into Teaching And Learning, C. Capucine Chapman

This phenomenological study explores the essence of ancestral knowledge from a belief in reincarnation and consciousness, as it relates to the lived experiences of diverse educational professionals, and its contribution to their growth and development. The study investigates the lived experiences of adult educators from four distinct teaching and learning environments: applied metaphysics, Buddhism, anthroposophy, and Indigenous. All participants maintain a practicing belief in reincarnation, consciousness, and ancient and/or esoteric knowledge. The present study sought to understand how this knowledge influenced and impacted educator growth and development, and examined overlaps in teaching and learning.

Retail associates are encountering customer conflict at an ever-increasing rate. Mistreatment by customers includes insults, name-calling, threats, and violence. Job satisfaction for associates is on the decline as a result. This Capstone project proposes retail associates are not trained in managing customer conflict. Forty-six retail associates completed a 22-question survey and watched five embedded video microlessons (lessons between one and three minutes). The video showed retail associates how to recognize, assess, and manage customer conflict through self-awareness and mindful engagement. Through grounded theory and qualitative research methods, this study confirms that retail associates’ job satisfaction can improve with conflict management …

Problem: Increased stress and decreased resiliency are concerning concepts that continue to be common themes within nursing practice. Stress, compassion fatigue, and burnout among nurses pose a great risk to the health care system, the patients it serves, as well as the nurses. Persistent levels of high stress additionally impact work activities and job performance, leading nurses to experience burnout, compassion fatigue, lower job satisfaction, high workplace turnover, and poor quality of care for patients. Nurses who demonstrate resiliency can adapt to unexpected events with a positive attitude, self-esteem, and tolerance.

Effect Of Increasing Literacy Skills To Improve Inmate Behavior: A Quantitative Study, Katie Lynn Millsap

This study examines the effect of increasing literacy skills during incarceration to improve adult inmate behavior, defined as a reduction in disciplinary reports received by participants. Male offenders, 18 years or older, housed in the Iowa Department of Corrections between July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2019 who completed two or more TABE Reading assessments met the inclusion criteria of the study. Multiple regression analyses were run to predict the correlation between the number of disciplinary infraction reports (dependent variable) each inmate received in a correlating timeframe of a TABE Reading assessment (independent variable). This study examined if a faculty-run Reading and Writing Lab at a small, private university in the Midwest helped traditionally underserved college freshmen taking developmental English classes increase their levels of self-perceived comprehension and confidence. Students who typically need to take developmental English classes include English as a Second Language (ESL) students, English Language Learners (ELL), immigrants, and first-generation students. Many of these students enter college and face economic and social disparity and may need more support than other students. Background: Differences in testing can lead to student frustration and questionable evaluation of student learning. Inconsistency in testing practices include differing levels of Bloom’s taxonomy, Faculty-written items versus publisher test bank items, and variations in grading. A decade and a half ago, the community of adult educators to which I belonged called the phenomenon that Jacobson describes in There Are No Hard-to-Serve Learners as “creaming.” This is the practice of choosing to serve certain students, in this case those with high scores on their initial GED® practice test or students with advanced TABE® scores, so that we fulfilled our performance objectives and more easily demonstrated employability. We knew what we were doing. The reasons were economic; we needed to show outcomes that would continue to make our adult education program eligible for funding.

The soybean gall midge (Resseliella maxima Gagné) was recently identified as a new species causing injury to soybean in the Midwestern United States. Although this insect was only recently identified, it has likely been present in soybean fields for at least the last 8 yr based on anecdotal reports. The soybean gall midge has historically been observed late in the season on soybean plants that were believed to have been previously compromised by a plant pathogen or mechanical damage with little to no concern for economic losses. The purpose of this dissertation in practice was twofold; The first purpose was to design a Professional Development (PD) program for a specialized group of civilian employees working in a large military organization, and the second purpose was to evaluate and refine that PD program using mixed-methods empirical research. The study focused on a group of approximately 100 Instructional System Specialists and Research Psychologists. The purpose of this explanatory sequential mixed methods study is to explore if occupational therapy assistant students demonstrate increased perceived confidence and communication skills. This was completed through interprofessional interactions during a simulated lab-based case with physical therapist assistant students. The perceived confidence and communication are measured through a pre and post survey using the Interdisciplinary Education Perception Scale (IEPS). Each student completed the Interdisciplinary Education Perception Scale (IEPS) pretest prior to the event. The Community Development and Youth Work (CDYW) programme team received funding from the IMPACT project as part of the Le Chéile award application during the academic year 2020/2021. The overall aim of the CDYW Le Chéile journey was to embed anti-racism in the teaching, learning and assessment of the programme. Flight simulation has made progressively significant inroads into pilot training at all levels of a pilot’s career – typically starting with training for the Instrument rating in light aircraft and concluding with Type Certification in transport category jetliners. This research was designed to explore if significant training inroads could also be offered to ab-initio pilots, those with no prior flight experience. An experimental group of four pilot trainees, without prior flight experience, were exposed to flight in a backwards-chained simulation starting from 4’ AGL (Above Ground Level). In this thesis, I address the systemic issue of sexual violence and rape culture that affect students on college campuses at an alarming rate. By utilizing critical action research, I propose the creation of the Department of Survivor Outreach and Response (SOAR), a holistic and collaborative department that focuses on supporting and advocating for survivors of sexual violence while also conducting prevention and education initiatives. ‘The Good English’: The Ideological Construction Of The Target Language In Adult Esol, Kelsey Swift

This project problematizes hegemonic conceptions of language by looking at the construction of ‘English’ in a nonprofit, community-based adult ESOL program in New York. I use ethnographic observation and interviews to uncover the discursive and pedagogical practices that uphold these hegemonic conceptions in this context. I find that the structural conditions of the program perpetuate a conception of ‘English’ shaped by linguistic racism and classism, despite the program’s progressive ideals. Linguistic authority is centralized through the presentation of a closed linguistic system and a focus on replication of templatic language. This allows for the drawing of linguistic borders by pathologizing …

โปรแกรมการเรียนรู้ระหว่างวัยถือเป็นเครื่องมือในการแก้ปัญหาความแปลกแยกและลดการพึ่งพาทางสังคมของผู้สูงอายุ และยังสร้างให้เกิดความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวกระหว่างวัยจากการการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ในลักษณะต่างตอบแทนของผู้สูงอายุและเด็ก งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) วิเคราะห์ความต้องการจำเป็นในการส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้สูงอายุและเด็กผ่านโปรแกรมการเรียนรู้ระหว่างวัยที่เหมาะสมกับบริบทไทย 2) พัฒนาหลักการออกแบบและต้นแบบโปรแกรมการเรียนรู้ระหว่างวัยเพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้สูงอายุและเด็ก และ 3) ทดลองและประเมินผลการใช้ต้นแบบโปรแกรมการเรียนรู้ระหว่างวัยเพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้สูงอายุและเด็ก และนำเสนอหลักการออกใหม่ที่ได้จากบทเรียนจากการวิจัย แบ่งการดำเนินวิจัยเป็น 3 ระยะตามวัตถุประสงค์การวิจัย โดยตัวอย่างในการวิจัยประกอบด้วยนักปฏิบัติจากในเมืองและนอกเมือง จำนวน 24 คน ตัวอย่างวิจัยระยะที่ 2 ประกอบด้วย นักวิชาการที่มีประสบการณ์ จำนวน 9 คน และ ตัวอย่างวิจัยในระยะที่ 3 ของการดำเนินการวิจัย คือ ผู้สูงอายุที่มีอายุ 60-69 ปี และเด็กที่มีอายุระหว่าง 10-12 ปี อย่างละ 17 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ โปรแกรมการเรียนรู้ระหว่างวัยเพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้สูงอายุและเด็ก วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้การวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา การวิเคราะห์โดยใช้สถิติเชิงบรรยาย ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้ ผลการวิเคราะห์ความต้องการจำเป็นในการส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้สูงอายุและเด็กผ่านโปรแกรมการเรียนรู้ระหว่างวัยที่เหมาะสมกับบริบทไทย พบว่า นักปฏิบัติควรได้รับการส่งเสริมทั้งสิ้น 4 ประการ คือที่ 1) ความตระหนักรู้ในความสำคัญของการส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างวัย 2) ความต้องการจำเป็นด้านความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับแนวคิดในการจัดกิจกรรมเพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างวัย 3) ความต้องการจำเป็นด้านทักษะการจัดกิจกรรมเพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างวัย 4) ความต้องการจำเป็นด้านความพร้อมในการจัดกิจกรรมส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์เรียนรู้ระหว่างวัย หลักการออกแบบและต้นแบบโปรแกรมการเรียนรู้ระหว่างวัยพัฒนาจากแนวคิดทฤษฎีการเรียนรู้ระหว่างวัยและแนวคิดการศึกษานอกระบบ ร่วมกับผลจากการระดมความคิดของนักปฏิบัติ ได้มาซึ่งร่างหลักการออกแบบตามแนวคิดของ Sandoval (2014) ซึ่งมีหลักการออกแบบทั่วไป 10 ประการ คือ 1) การสร้างความรู้สึกปลอดภัยในการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมโดยให้สมาชิกที่การตัดสินด้วยตนเอง 2) การจัดกิจกรรมที่ทำให้ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมมีความรู้สึกว่าสามารถทำกิจกรรมได้ง่ายและสนุก 3) การส่งเสริมให้เกิดความเข้าใจในความแตกต่างระหว่างวัย 4) การกำหนดบทบาทของการมีส่วนร่วมของพ่อแม่ในการสร้างการเรียนรู้ระหว่างวัย 5) การจัดกิจกรรมที่ตอบสนองความต้องการของชุมชน 6) การจัดกิจกรรมที่ตอบสนองตามความต้องการของข้อเสนอของผู้สูงอายุและเด็ก 7) การใช้การสื่อสารเชิงบวกในการจัดกิจกรรม 8) การส่งเสริมให้เกิดความเชื่อถือไว้วางใจกันของสมาชิกที่เข้าร่วมกิจกรรม 9) การสร้างเงื่อนไขและสถานการณ์ที่ทำให้ผู้สูงอายุและเด็กมาพบและทำกิจกรรมร่วมกัน 10) การส่งเสริมศักยภาพในการจัดกิจกรรมของนักปฏิบัติในพื้นที่เพื่อให้สามารถพึ่งพาตนเองในการจัดโปรแกรมการเรียนรู้ระหว่างวัยได้ด้วยตนเองและยั่งยืน ผลการทดลองและประเมินผลการใช้ต้นแบบโปรแกรมการเรียนรู้ระหว่างวัย พบว่า ช่วยส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้สูงอายุและเด็ก โดยส่งผลให้เกิดตัวแปรผลลัพธ์ 7 ตัวแปรย่อย ได้แก่ ความเข้าใจและยอมรับในความแตกต่างระหว่างวัย อันนำมาซึ่งทัศนคติที่ดีต่อคนต่างวัย 2) มุมมองเชิงคุณค่าต่อคนต่างวัย 3) ความผูกพันธ์ระหว่างวัย …
