G85-770 An Introduction To Grain Options On Futures Contracts, Lynn H. Lutgen, Lynne A. Todd
G85-770 An Introduction To Grain Options On Futures Contracts, Lynn H. Lutgen, Lynne A. Todd
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension: Historical Materials
This publication, the third of six NebGuides on agricultural grain options, explains how to use futures options as a marketing tool.
A new agricultural marketing tool is available to farmers. A futures agricultural option is much like an insurance policy. It is a marketing alternative that gives farmers insurance against unfavorable price moves, but allows producers to take advantage of favorable price moves. To better understand terms used in this paper, please see NebGuide G85-768, Basic Terminology For Understanding Grain Options.

Pointing The Way, Jennifer Upton-Doty
MA TESOL Collection
"Pointing the Way" looks at reading and writing activities and how they are introduced and worked with in the initial lessons of a beginning English class, using Silent Way charts. The first sections deal with why it is important to work with reading and writing skills in the first stages of learning English as a foreign language. A section of lesson plans follows, demonstrating how the activities are integrated into the lessons. The Activity sections are last and include activities to use at the beginning level and after.

Newswriting For Beginners: A Suggested Lesson Plan, Gene Adair
Newswriting For Beginners: A Suggested Lesson Plan, Gene Adair
Honors Theses
This lesson plan accompanies a set of transparencies illustrating various aspects and problems of newswriting. I feel that this type of presentation, with its use of visual aids, will make a greater impression on the student than a straight lecture approach.
The three lessons detailed in this project are concerned strictly with basic newswriting. Hopefully, the student will already have had some introduction to newsgathering before being exposed to this presentation.
The focus of this project is on fundamentals, and little attention is given to the more advanced problems one encounters in writing interview, speech and feature stories.

Manuscript Writing, Kathy Bittle
Manuscript Writing, Kathy Bittle
Honors Theses
Teachers influence the writing of children by example, planned lessons, and by establishment and maintenance of standards. To do this teachers need to be able to use acceptable manuscript writing, diagnose the individual needs of children, and plan experiences to meet those needs. Teachers do this by understanding the nature of the task to be done, the materials and tools, used and current procedure and philosophy, acquiring the personal skills needed, and understanding the range of individual differences among learners.

Manuscript Writing Present Practices And Extension Trends Within Schools Of The State Of Washington, John W. Wingate Jr.
All Master's Theses
In assuming this study, the author purported to ascertain both the potential and the limitations of manuscript-style hand-writing. A more important goal was to probe the existing fallacies and beliefs that surround one of the most controversial areas in the field of language arts, manuscript-style handwriting. The most important goal was to diagnose the usage and extension trends of manuscript writing within the elementary schools of the state of Washington.
