Attentional Control And Its Relationship To Signal Communication In Iraqi Volleyball Referees, Zeyad Aneed Salman Al-Nasraw, Sawsan Hodoud Sheila
Journal of STEPS for Humanities and Social Sciences
The purpose of the study was to develop measures of attentional control and signal communication in order to determine their level among volleyball referees in Iraq, as well as to determine the correlation between attentional control and signal communication among volleyball referees in Iraq. As the research problem was defined, and based on the researchers' experience as specialists in this field, it was discovered that there is a discrepancy and sometimes fluctuation in the arbitral level in the performance of volleyball referees between one match and another, which negatively affects the match results. Among them is a lack of attentional …

Baltic Journal of Health and Physical Activity
Background: The value of volleyball players’ reach is often critical to their efficient functioning in the game. It depends on the jumping ability factor and the player’s body build. An analysis of this parameter is particularly difficult to carry out in real conditions of the game. The objective of the research was to determine the height of reach in basic technical and tactical actions of leading Polish volleyball players during a match in regard to their maximum values measured in laboratory conditions. Material/Methods: The study involved five volleyball players, Polish representatives of different specialization in the game: the attacker, the …

Relationship Of General Athletic Performance Markers To Intra-Team Ranking Of Sport Performance, Steven Keith Scruggs Ii
Relationship Of General Athletic Performance Markers To Intra-Team Ranking Of Sport Performance, Steven Keith Scruggs Ii
Theses and Dissertations
A foundational principle in sport science involves applying an evidence-based approach to training and development of athletes. The primary objective is to provide an effective training program, while monitoring general athletic performance (GAP) development (i.e., athlete-monitoring), ensuring intended adaptations are occurring. Much of the literature has focused on GAP markers (e.g., physical qualities related to strength, speed, power, agility, and endurance) which are only suggested to influence competitive sport performance (SP) outcomes (e.g., yards per carry, batting average, hitting percentage, rank or placement, etc.; B. Alejo, personal communication, July 13, 2019). This gap in the literature should be filled via …
