Influential Fellows: A Professor And Writing Fellows Reflect On Identities, Feedback, And Communities, Sharlene Gilman, Paxton Beck, Nancy Zola

Insufficient attention has been directed to first year and first generation developmental writing students whose courses involve embedded peer and near-peer tutors. This article explores the learning communities and learning and teaching identities mutually constructed by one professor of developmental composition and two Writing Fellows who are secondary English education majors through working together with our population, and how relationship dynamics impacted identities and curricular choices.

This paper deals with establishing Christian core-curriculum from a Reformed point of view (the paper also uses the term “college education that enables mission”) for Christian colleges and universities in the mission fields. The paper explores definition, content, and uses of core-curriculum, and relevant issues that must be deal with for the formation of it in the situation of the mission field. It also provides a plan and roadmap for the formation of three core-curriculum for PAUA member institutions. Faith and education/knowledge are two different tasks. Exploring The Impact Of Program Structure On Student And Faculty Scholarly Communities In Interdisciplinary Ph. D. Programs, Lenore G. Horowitz

The Information Science doctoral program at the University at Albany, State University of New York, faces many of the same challenges found in highly interdisciplinary programs across educational institutions worldwide such as complex curricula development, abundant discipline languages and cultures, and stakeholders clinging to the traditional, single-discipline university system. In 2006, the University at Albany Information Science Ph.D. program faculty redefined the program's structure in hopes of addressing the challenges it was facing. Program structure is a social process shaped by community participation and is influenced by many factors including students, faculty members, and both informal and formal knowledge production.

This study is an attempt to assemble the engineering curricula of all the junior colleges and many of the four year colleges and universities of California, and to determine to what extent the junior college engineering curricula are similar to the lower division curricular of these dour year institutions.
