Design Of A Simulation Of Multiple Perspectives In Road Safety Education, Gregg S. Rowland, Robert J. Wright, Barry M. Harper, Stephen Gray

Faculty of Education - Papers (Archive)

The possibilities afforded by new multimedia technology, combined with contemporary ideas about learning, have opened up new design opportunities for educational simulations. In particular, the use of sophisticated multimedia environments have made the design of experiential simulations, in which the learner plays an authentic role carrying out complex tasks, a much more tractable design task This paper describes the use of an educational simulation paradigm to represent multiple perspectives in a road safety context and the evaluative strategies that were undertaken to ensure the teaching resource will lead learners to a stronger understanding of the various factors that interact and …

Another Road To Safety: Program Replication Guide, Amy Conley Wright

Faculty of Social Sciences - Papers (Archive)

The "Another Road to Safety" Program (ARS) offers another type of intervention for parents who have maltreated their children and another chance for families to remain together. For the past two years, Alameda County public and community based agencies have come together to provide early intervention services to prevent the reoccurrence of child maltreatment. ARS uses a differential response intervention model that separates parents reported to the child maltreatment hotline into four levels of risk for child safety and risk of future maltreatment: low, moderate, high, and very high. Clients are then referred to services based on their risk level: …

G05-1573 Meat And Fabrication-Room Temperatures For Food Safety, Alejandro Amezquita, L. Wang, Harshavardhan Thippareddi, Dennis E. Burson, Curtis Weller

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension: Historical Materials

Within the last 20 years, several meat-borne pathogenic microorganisms have emerged in the United States, causing numerous outbreaks of disease and death, as well as drastic economical losses.

Guidelines in this NebGuide are suggested for controlling temperature of meat and meat products in fabrication rooms so as to prevent detrimental growth of meat-borne pathogens.

Walk With Your Kids: Early Childhood Pedestrian Injury Prevention Project: Classroom Activies: Pre-Primary, Marnie House, Maree James

Research outputs pre 2011

This resource contains learning activities designed to provide a review for children of the five road crossing steps, to introduce chiidren to sequencing these steps and then road crossing scenarios to build children's problem solving skills. The learning activities are designed to be developmentally and cognitively appropriate for pre-primary children, with a focus on learning through play.
