The prevalence of chronic health problems among youth has nearly doubled in current years. Due to the lack of knowledge on chronic illnesses rising among youth, many teenagers find themselves uninformed and suffering the aftermath of these illnesses. Consequences such as obesity, asthma, learning disabilities, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health are significant as they grow into young adults. To raise awareness among youth at Learning for Life Charter School, we have implemented the program A Healthy Body, A Healthy Mind.
