Project-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered instructional practice, emphasizing student agency, engagement, and learning opportunities through relevant problem-solving and interdisciplinary curriculum. PBL also helps students develop academic and social skills through real-world application of their learning. On a global level, three out of four employers claim to have difficulty finding university graduates with the soft skills companies need, and educators agree. The soft skills gap is also a massive challenge in Rwanda, as researches show that recent graduates struggle to enter the job market and find decent employment upon graduation due to a lack of practical exposure and experience with soft skills. Transfer students have long played a significant role in the growth and diversity of colleges and universities. Recent research points to a continuous decline in enrollment over the coming decade (Kelderman, Gardner, & Conley, 2019), and as tuition costs continue to increase and enrollment numbers decrease, institutions of higher education have begun turning to transfer students to fill their lecture halls and football stadiums. This research explored the use of ICT products by n = 123 pre-service teachers to complete collaborative assessments. Students responded to a questionnaire relating to the use, benefits and limitations, and what would better enable the use of ICT for collaborative assessment purposes. The ICT products favoured by students did not support some key elements necessary for online collaboration, through either student use or product functionality. Poor Internet access was a commonly cited limitation with the effect of reducing access to available ICT skills training. Suggestions for changes to course structure and content and further research are made.

In this paper we report on a pilot study of the teaching and learning at Sekolah Tinggi Teologi KADESI (STTK), a tertiary theological institution in Yogyakarta, during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Our methods for collecting data were to survey the 40 students and conduct one-to-one interviews with the 10 lecturers at STTK. The analysis of data drew on two theoretical constructs: Donald Schön’s reflection-in-action and the notion of empowerment in an educational context. We found challenges and difficulties to do with the logistics of teaching and the barriers to communication between instructors and students. And on the positive side, …

Higher education should provide learning situations that prepare students for a future profession and make them world-ready. This paper reports insights from an international interdisciplinary collaborative project aiming to create learning experiences that are close to a professional situation. The collaboration setup simulates a setting of a digital agency with a development team in Sweden and a marketing team in Australia working together to solve a task. The collaborative project has been active since 2017, completing its fifth iteration in 2021. Early childhood pedagogical practice in primary schools is often challenged by academic demands, debate about best practice and ongoing change through new policy initiatives. This paper reports an investigation of how early childhood pedagogical leaders assist early years teachers in schools to embrace change and embed early childhood pedagogy. Framed within a constructivist epistemology, this paper reports on findings from three case studies drawn from a larger mixed-methods study from Perth, Western Australia. Data collected through shadowing pedagogical leaders, undertaking contextual interviews and analysing school documents revealed that pedagogical change was promoted, encouraged and sustained through a number of strategies. …

Mixed-ability grouping is widespread in primary schools and in several subject areas in secondary schools in England. Notwithstanding, there is scant research on mixed-ability grouping in the education literature, particularly in terms of its impact on students’ experiences. The research reported in this paper employs enactment theory to provide original insights into the diverse practices and complex contextual factors that shape students’ perceptions and experiences of mixed-ability grouping in physical education (PE). Student retention in education courses is a political imperative. This research examined the wicked problem of attrition in a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Studies) course, drawing on the experiences of three different groups of students studying early childhood. The participants from each study represented different student groups within the course, which included all female (n = 20), all male (n = 6) and all mid-year entry students (n = 10). This paper provides insight into secondary Physical Education (PE) teachers’ experiences of beginning to re-imagine secondary physical education provision in light of the new Curriculum for Wales, 2022 (CfW). Data were generated through analysis of semi-structured interviews (n = 5) with secondary PE teachers who participated in three workshops which uses a design-thinking methodology. Informed by Ball and colleagues’ conceptualisation of policy work, findings draw attention towards how engagement in the workshops provided a foundation for the participants to begin interpretation and translation of the new CfW and consider re-imagining existing PE provision within the school context. Higher education institutes (HEI) face considerable challenges in navigating how to respond to the escalating and intertwined socio-ecological sustainability crises. Many dedicated individuals working in the sector are already driving meaningful action through rigorous research, teaching, knowledge sharing, and public engagement, while there is a growing consensus that sector-wide change is needed to ensure that aspirational declarations and positive individual actions translate into sustainable and transformative change. Drawings have been extensively used as a research method to gather data from research participants including school students regarding their perceptions of mathematics and its teaching and learning. What is valued in drawing-based research in mathematics education, and what kind of knowledge is produced through student drawings, however, is not known. This paper reports on research that explored the experiences of secondary Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) professionals' simultaneous negotiation and implementation of the new Curriculum for Wales (CfW) Health and Well-Being (HWB) Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE) and policies focused on the transformation of Initial Teacher Education (ITE) in Wales. The study was an exploratory case study of PETE professionals working within one university's ITE programme. Data were generated through documentary analysis of PETE and ITE programme materials and semi-structured interviews with staff involved in programme management and delivery. การวิจัยนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปฏิสัมพันธ์ของวิธีการปรับสมดุลข้อมูลกับเงื่อนไขด้านขนาดตัวอย่าง เทคนิคการจำแนกข้อมูล จำนวนตัวแปรระหว่างกลุ่มตัวแปรจัดประเภทต่อกลุ่มตัวแปรต่อเนื่อง อัตราออด และร้อยละของจำนวนข้อมูลกลุ่มหลักต่อข้อมูลกลุ่มรองที่มีต่อประสิทธิภาพของการจำแนกกลุ่ม การปรับสมดุลของข้อมูลแบ่งออกเป็น 3 วิธี ได้แก่ (1) ไม่ปรับสมดุล (2) วิธี random oversampling และ (3) วิธีผสมผสานระหว่างรูปแบบสุ่มเกินและสุ่มลด (hybrid) โดยใช้แพคเกจ ROSE ส่วนเงื่อนไขด้านขนาดตัวอย่างแบ่งออกเป็น ขนาดตัวอย่างเท่ากับ 100 300 และ 500 หน่วย ด้านเทคนิคการจำแนกข้อมูล แบ่งออกเป็น 4 วิธี ได้แก่ (1) เคเนียร์เรสเนเบอร์ (2) การถดถอยโลจิสติก (3) แรนดอมฟอร์เรส และ (4) ซัพพอร์ตเวกเตอร์แมชชีน ตัวแปรจากการจำลองแบ่งออกเป็นตัวแปรตามซึ่งจำลองด้วยการถดถอยโลจิสติก ส่วนตัวแปรอิสระในการจำลองข้อมูลครั้งนี้จะกำหนดให้ใช้ตัวแปรอิสระจำลองทั้งหมด 8 ตัว โดยกำหนดให้มีจำนวนตัวแปรระหว่างกลุ่มตัวแปรจัดประเภทต่อกลุ่มตัวแปรต่อเนื่อง 3 กรณี คือ 4:4 5:3 และ 6:2 ในขณะที่ระดับของอัตราออด จะสุ่มค่าจากช่วง [1,2) หรือ [2,3) และร้อยละของข้อมูลระหว่างข้อมูลกลุ่มหลักต่อข้อมูลกลุ่มรอง แบ่งออกเป็น 2 กรณี ได้แก่ 60:40 และ 70:30 พิจารณาเกณฑ์ประสิทธิภาพของข้อมูลด้วยตัวชี้วัดความถูกต้องในการจำแนก ความไว และความจำเพาะ การจำลองแต่ละสถานการณ์จะทำซ้ำสถานการณ์ละ 500 รอบ การวิเคราะห์ปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างวิธีการปรับสมดุลข้อมูลกับเงื่อนไขต่าง ๆ ใช้การวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนพหุคูณหลายทาง (n-way MANOVA) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า วิธีการปรับสมดุลข้อมูลมีปฏิสัมพันธ์แบบสองทางกับเงื่อนไขด้านขนาดตัวอย่าง ร้อยละของข้อมูลระหว่างข้อมูลกลุ่มหลักต่อข้อมูลกลุ่มรอง อัตราออด และเทคนิคการจำแนกข้อมูล และพบปฏิสัมพันธ์แบบสามทางกับเงื่อนไขต่อไปนี้ (1) ขนาดตัวอย่างและจำนวนตัวแปรระหว่างกลุ่มตัวแปรจัดประเภทต่อกลุ่มตัวแปรต่อเนื่อง (2) ขนาดตัวอย่างและเทคนิคการจำแนกข้อมูล และ (3) ร้อยละของข้อมูลระหว่างข้อมูลกลุ่มหลักต่อข้อมูลกลุ่มรอง และเทคนิคการจำแนกข้อมูล ดังนั้นนักวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลควรเลือกใช้วิธีการปรับสมดุลข้อมูลโดยพิจารณาให้เหมาะสมกับสภาพของข้อมูลที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์

The positioning and format of performance assessment in examination physical education varies between courses across Australia and internationally. This paper centres on developments in performance assessment in the Physical Education Studies (PES) course in Western Australia (WA). In 2021 The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) undertook an assessment validation trial of school-based assessment of students participating in modified format competitive game play in the 10 PES sports. This contrasted to existing centralised examination arrangements. การวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนารูปแบบการทดสอบเพื่อเพิ่มศักยภาพการเรียนรู้วิชาคณิตศาสตร์ในห้องเรียนที่มีการให้ข้อมูลย้อนกลับทันทีโดยใช้ระบบคอมพิวเตอร์ ตามแบบการเรียนของผู้เรียน 2) ตรวจสอบคุณภาพรูปแบบการทดสอบฯ 3) ศึกษาผลการใช้รูปแบบการทดสอบฯ และ 4) ประเมินประสิทธิผลของการใช้รูปแบบการทดสอบฯ ตัวอย่างในการวิจัยคือ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 โรงเรียนสาธิตจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ฝ่ายมัธยม จำนวน 5 ห้อง จำนวน 126 คน แต่ละกลุ่มประกอบด้วยผู้เรียนที่มีแบบการเรียน (Learning Style) แบ่งเป็น 6 แบบ ได้แก่ แบบอิสระ แบบพึ่งพา แบบร่วมมือ แบบหลีกเลี่ยง แบบแข่งขัน และแบบมีส่วนร่วม เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือ 1) แบบสอบถามแบบการเรียน 2) แบบทดสอบก่อนเรียน แบบทดสอบหลังเรียนฉบับที่ 1 และ 2 เรื่องการแก้สมการเชิงเส้นตัวแปรเดียว และ 3) แบบทดสอบระหว่างเรียนเรื่องการแก้สมการเชิงเส้นตัวแปรเดียวที่มีการให้ข้อมูลย้อนกลับทันทีโดยใช้ระบบคอมพิวเตอร์ การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้สถิติเชิงบรรยาย ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และสถิติเชิงอนุมาน ได้แก่ การทดสอบค่าเฉลี่ยของตัวอย่าง 2 กลุ่มแบบไม่เป็นอิสระต่อกัน การวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนร่วมแบบสองทาง (Two-ways MANCOVA) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. รูปแบบการทดสอบเพื่อเพิ่มศักยภาพการเรียนรู้วิชาคณิตศาสตร์ในห้องเรียนที่มีการให้ข้อมูลย้อนกลับทันทีโดยใช้ระบบคอมพิวเตอร์ ตามแบบการเรียนของผู้เรียน รูปแบบมีองค์ประกอบของการทดสอบ มี 3 ประการ ได้แก่ ผู้เรียน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการทดสอบ และผลการทดสอบ และขั้นตอนการทดสอบตามกระบวนการเรียนการสอน แบ่งออกเป็น 3 ขั้นตอน ได้แก่ การทดสอบก่อนเรียน การทดสอบระหว่างเรียน และการทดสอบหลังเรียน จากการทดลองใช้ พบว่า รูปแบบการเรียนและรูปแบบการให้ข้อมูลย้อนกลับ ไม่มีปฏิสัมพันธ์ร่วมกันต่อความน่าจะเป็นในการตอบถูก (F= 0.66, Sig.= 0.76) ไม่มีปฏิสัมพันธ์ร่วมกันต่อพัฒนาการการเรียนรู้ของผู้เรียน (F= 1.48, Sig.= 0.16) และไม่มีปฏิสัมพันธ์ร่วมกันต่อความคงทนในการเรียนรู้ (F= 0.91, Sig.= 0.53) 2. ผลการตรวจสอบคุณภาพรูปแบบการทดสอบฯ …

The aim of this thesis is to study the trend of civic and citizenship education research from 2000 to 2020 and the influence the regional background of researches has on the research discussion. Relevant data is collected from ERIC and SCOPUS database. This includes abstracts, published year, regional background of researchers, and author h-index. The keywords used are “civic education” or “citizenship education” or “civics”. There are 4917 papers extracted in total. Upon doing further preparation, 4854 articles are prepared for analysis. In this article, I explore my academic privileges through using the autoethnographic method while working in an alternative school and with interns hired for an agricultural internship. Academic privilege is contextualized as those factors in an education setting that benefit some and not all; with consideration of various personal and social factors including, but not limited to, skin color, aspects of identity, economic disparity, resource availability, social relationships, social settings, etcetera.
