Consultants in elementary education use a variety of techniques in their work with teachers to improve instruction in schools. The problem with which this study will be concerned may be stated as follows: What supervisory techniques are employed by San Joaquin County consultants in elementary education in their efforts to improve instruction in schools that receive direct instructional supervision?
