The problem of secret societies in secondary schools has long been a vexing question to educators in the field of secondary education. Because of this situation high schools have been torn apart, school principals and super- intendents have lost their positions, fraternity boys have been expelled from school, educators and parents have taken their differences to court, and the law-making bodies of nearly half the states in the union have taken it under consideration for legislation.
