The objective of this project is to collect and analyze waste cooking oil from the food

court shops on Davis Campus, to determine best methods of purification, and to optimize the production process in which purified oil will be utilized for manufacturing soap. The project will provide a means of reducing waste disposal costs, recycling of used oil, reducing environmental impacts and providing a sustainable contribution to the Davis Campus that could potentially be replicated at our other campuses

Utilizing an “Integrated Digital Twin” method, it enables remote assessment and optimization of mobility, predictive gait analysis, and falls risk prevention. With AI and limited clinical resources, it enhances prosthesis comfort, mobility, and energy efficiency, empowering local interventions and direct user interaction.

The Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies collaborated with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) to integrate a counselling simulation pilot project within the Professional Practice Courses for the Social Service Worker program. Although advising and dispensing of pain-relieving medication (PRM) is not within the purview of many sport health care providers, many are asked by athletes to provide such medication. Sport health care providers indicated that they appreciated having more information to relay to their athletes. This study adds to supporting more educational initiatives for sport health care providers to recognize misuse and provide information related to PRM and opioids.

Research and supporting evidence represent a gap identified in didactic learning between students and faculty. This gap shows emotional factors of the nursing curriculum that may suggest negative impacts on nursing students, but also improvements that can be made to increase students’ clinical competency levels. By adhering to strict definitions of student-led learning theory and clinical competency, we were able to create concrete evidence with measurable data that can contribute to the elimination of this gap in learning. Purpose: New Medical Schools need mentoring programs to enhance the personal and professional development of mentees and mentors. The need to establish a mentoring support mechanism is critical. This poster will share our progress to date.

Methods: A pilot mentoring program was established for junior faculty. These faculty members were paired with an associate professor or professor to serve as mentors for career development and engage in a focused scholarly project over a nine-month period.

The post COVID—19 era signals an epoch that arose after the crisis of the pandemic. This therefore requires higher education institutions (HEIs) to embrace digitalization in administration, teaching and learning as a contingency measure in case of future disruptions. This systematic literature review paper explores the challenges and opportunities presented to HEIs by the pandemic with a view to mapping the way forward through digitalization. The study applied a literature search strategy on seven electronic databases which yielded a total of 5 462 articles. Micro-credential providers are increasing both in diversity and volume. However, employers are still concerned about their role in skill development. This study aimed to understand how micro-credentials can assist employees in skills development. A systematic literature review was conducted for studies published between (2016 to 2023). Thirty-two sources were included in the final review.
