With all the benefits of study abroad programs for students in higher education, as suggested in the literature, this study proposes promoting study/teach abroad programs for faculty members. Through such programs, institutions will benefit from diversity and promotion of study abroad programs for students will be much more efficient with faculty members giving the account of first hand experience of their studying/teaching abroad.

This paper is an attempt to understand whether and, if so, how one particular prospective learning theory in education really deals with the issue of diversity. As a prospective learning theory, epistemology, and methodology, constructivism emphasizes non-transmitted ways of classroom instruction, and its conduciveness to student learning has been well documented. However, most research concerning constructivism has been conducted in relatively stable linguistic, ethnic, and cultural contexts; relatively few studies have critically analyzed the process of teaching and learning when constructivism is applied to contexts involving linguistic, cultural, or ethnic diversity. This article clarifies brisk salient education and communication perspectives on the need for and role of ALANA (African, Latino, Asian and Native American) teachers and teacher education students in the nation. From the co-authors’ perspectives as African American professors of prospective ALANA K-12 teachers, the notion of “Making it Real: ALANA Teacher Education Preparation, Communication and Diversity Suppositions” is an aerial design that continues to be drafted.
