The purpose of this study was the description of the instructional supervisory role in the state of Tennessee as perceived by county public school instructional supervisors. The description constituted a determination of differences which exist between the actual and ideal role perceptions of county instructional supervisors. The determination was thought to be essential for movement toward role congruency, enhancement of instructional supervisory behavior, and the heightening of teacher-student engagement opportunities.

The problem of this study was to determine the prioritization and assessment of educational goals in a selected school system. The purpose of this study was to engage citizens, administrators, teachers, and students in the prioritization and assessment of unified educational goals for public schools. The sample size for the study consisted of 117 participants in the following groups: (1) representative community group; (2) administrator group; (3) teacher group; and (4) student group. A Comparison Of Priority Ratings Of Evaluative Criteria For Instructional Personnel, Cynthia A. Suarez

The purpose of this study was to compare the priority ratings given to evaluative criteria of four groups within the education profession--superintendents, secondary supervisors, secondary principals, and secondary teachers. The research sought to determine whether or not factors of agreement existed among the four groups of people regarding their attitudes toward important teacher characteristics. A total of fifty-two subjects from four occupational roles was used: thirteen superintendents, thirteen supervisors, thirteen principals, and thirteen teachers. The subjects were administered the Teacher Characteristics Q Sort, a ninety-item sort of adjectives. The results were factor analyzed, and four significant factors emerged. Factor A …

Both primary and secondary sources were used in gaining knowledge of the history of sports. Interviews were conducted with individuals who had been in the position of president or athletic director.
